I think he was the canucks 6th round pick last year. I wanna know where he is playing and if he might have a shot at ever making the canucks. he might be one of those hidden gems in the draft that thomas gradin uncovers like edler.

right now he is playing for the Linkoping in the Swedish elite league

Apperently in some article after the draft, Thomas Gradin and the canucks were contacting the Mats

they said mats would stay for a year or two before having come over, but remember this was in 2006 or 2007

This year he had a soo year , he sounds sort of a Samuel Pahlson from Chicago

sounds like you're talking more about ilya kablukov than mats froshaug.

froshaug was drafted in 2008 and i don't remember hearing much about him after that.

Here is your absolute, no-one-close surefire Quote of the Week and early Quote of the Season favorite, courtesy of the Canucks’ Kevin Bieksa.

Bieksa, in his first game back after spraining his MCL against the Flames last weekend, played somewhere between 12 and 14 minutes, depending upon who you believe, in the FIRST PERIOD of Sunday’s game with Chicago.

Said Bieksa, when informed of the stat:

“It [expletive] felt like it.”

Hopefully he would be the next Edler, draft-position-wise.

We totally snaked Edler from Detroit. They were going to pick him up but our brass made some moves and got a pick before Troit did. I bet that pissed them off big time. He was an unknown except to Detroit and us. That goes to show you how good Detroit's brass is at drafting. Edler rules!

I am going to hold on to this one for when were under 500 at the quarter pole. There is no way a roster like this can make the playoffs.
Unless Luongo can stand on his head and I mean on his left ear, there is no way this club goes anywhere. I bet were under 500 after the first 20 games. This being said, with our current roster. We'll see who's on the crack Kobracom77.

QUOTE (racerjoe @ Aug 29 2008, 05:33 PM) *
Here is a bold statement, if the season were to start right now, I think a healthy team from last season could beat a healthy team from this season.

QUOTE (tribaljohn @ Jul 28 2008, 10:04 AM) *
Canucks would be lucky to finish 5th last overall forget 5 in the conference.
It well take 96 points to get into the the playoffs this season.
I don't see the Canucks even getting to the post season at this point -- if every body plays above expectations -- if the defence stays healthy -- if Sundin signs here -- this team might get 90 points -- still not enough to get in.

sweet sigs by chizzle.

I remember reading an articile that stated roughly 9% of sixth round players ever make it to the bigs. Essentially, he has a one in ten chance. Realistically, he'ld have to play for the Moose before he's even considered I would think!

When I think about this guy's name, it sounds like Mats Sundin/Forsberg...

I remember they sent him back to norway half way through the season so he gets more time playing a top six role

This guy was a Gradin pick, like Edler and Hansen. He had a tough year but hopefully he can bounce back and maybe one day make the Canucks.
