oh well if you search mats froshaug his thread will come up.
Here is your absolute, no-one-close surefire Quote of the Week and early Quote of the Season favorite, courtesy of the Canucks’ Kevin Bieksa.

Bieksa, in his first game back after spraining his MCL against the Flames last weekend, played somewhere between 12 and 14 minutes, depending upon who you believe, in the FIRST PERIOD of Sunday’s game with Chicago.

Said Bieksa, when informed of the stat:

“It [expletive] felt like it.”

Frøshaug seems to be a bust. Came to Norway and was in the finals with the team he played on, but was almost invisible. Really struggled in Sweden this year, and was hoping to rejuvenate his season in Norway. Did ok during the final 10 games or so of the regular season, but otherwise next to nothing. Was bothered by some sort of head injury, which may be a concussion, so hopefully that's the reason for his disappearance in the playoffs, and he can come back much stronger next season. Was not part of Norway's World championship team, and is not in the discussions for the olympic team as we speak, which doesn't bode well.

He is only what? Max 20 years old? Players develop later in their careers (look at Franzen) don't count him out until at least 3 years post-draft

Well he put a point per game in junior Swedish league and Norwegian elite leagues.

He just entered the Swedish elite league, even played 3 games in the champions hockey league.

I'd say that's a good year. Remember, he's playing with men now. It'll take time for him to put up solid numbers and when/if he is able to put up big numbers in the swedish elite league, then we'll get him over here to north america. His projection is a 3rd/4th liner anyways. He really has limited offense skills. Look at a Mario Bliznak type of a guy. Though, what can you expect from a 6th round pick.

I mean, if you want to be positive. Henrik Zetterberg's point totals from SEL translated over to the NHL right away. Though Froshaug really isn't even close to Zetterberg's level.

who cares?

If you got a stick up your donkey and your not interested in the Canucks then do everyone a favour and don't speak, is it that time of month for you or what? Hidden Gems are thebest picks, and I believe Datsuk and Zetterberg were 5th an 7th round picks.
I believe Markus Naslund and Pavel Bure's #'s should get retired. GO CANUCKS GO!

The job of the Canucks is to find him a place to play where they feel he'll develop. The Canucks searched for the best opportunity for him to play.

We totally snaked Edler from Detroit. They were going to pick him up but our brass made some moves and got a pick before Troit did. I bet that pissed them off big time. He was an unknown except to Detroit and us. That goes to show you how good Detroit's brass is at drafting. Edler rules!

And they drafted some totally random 6'3 Swedish winger instead... What was his name again?

Oh well... he probably won't win the Conn Smythe.

I wonder when we'll see Froshaug crossing the Atlantic to play for Manitoba.

Probably another 2-3 years. Mats Froshaug has goals to achieve at the SEL before he goes to Manitoba.

If we hadn't drafted Edler they most likely would have gotten both of them too. Imagine that, wow.

I don't know. Everyone is so hopefully. I feel bad for Alex Edler. Maybe he would have 2 Stanley Cup Rings already if Detroit did draft him.

Thanks, RK.17 for the Sig!

He isn't getting the icetime in the SEL, bring him to the AHL and give him some time and get him acclimatized our game/systems.

In the interview with The Pipeline Show, Gillis said that he's working on bringing Froshaug to NA. I didn't hear this myself but those who were listening all reported this.

Anybody else noticing that our prospect pool has been amped up tremendously since Gillis took over?

Well from what I gather he wasn't playing all that well for Luleå HF but once they put him on team Sparta Sarpsborg he was playing point a game stats. 7Games 2goals and 6 assist that's pretty great.

Well what do you expect?

He's only had the privilege to attend a single draft.

It's not like you're going to trade for prospects mid-season fighting for a playoff spot...

Those prospects where always there... just Burke and Nonis didn't want to spend any extra effort to bring them over.
