Grabner out indefinitely... dammit. But, Shirokov or Pettinger in the lineup tomorrow against New York?

pettinger's in the lineup tomorrow

Shirokov plays with the moose tonight, and there are links online to watch, if you know where to look.

Yeah, i've found them for the last few games, LEGALLY!!! We here at CDC don't break the law, that would be wrong.

Edit - Gotta say though, I'm glad that Shirokov is going to be down for this stretch of AHL games. Get some big points and bam, big respect *or at least some*

Shirooo needs a linemate that he has good chemistry with. He lit up the KHL and the AHL, and there's no reason to think he won't succeed. Hopefully in this next stretch he rips it up.

Edler point prediction: 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points / Edler point counter: 0 goals, 7 assists and 7 points.

He dangled around a few players, then cross creased passed it and the other guy completely missed the pass and the open net.

When Danny comes back we should try a Shirokov Wellwood Bernier line.

last nights game was painful to watch, Shirokov was great but had literally no one to play with.

5 games in 6 days for the moose: This will be a stretch that Shirokov can hopefully excel in and not get too exhausted, so that perhaps he can come up to the pros during the Moose's 5 day break.

BTW, I've become such a follower of the moose all of a sudden. I used to give two S%@&S, but now I love them, thanks to Shirokov :P

I was like that when Bourdon was on the moose :(

Now Shirokov's there and I'm all over them again

Its funny because AV had a long interview where he talked about everything from Lui to Kes to the weather. But yet he didnt mention Shirokov at all. In fact, he talked about Desbiens not being an option because he was injured for the moose.

???

bottom 6 need, not top 6. Plus Shiro needs some time in a single league to get acclimated. Bouncing back and forth does not help him at all.

-2, 2 shots, played better than the stats would say but was relatively off in what I saw today between periods.

I have a feeling that he will be down in the AHL for a while. He has had 2 call ups, and to put it nicely did nothing.

Sadly, you're right.

I think that he will be scary next year, but this year seems to be a bit of a slow go.

The guy definitely has the talent and the vision.

yes, and he's doing well, but has no one to play with anymore now that all of his worthwhile teammates are on the Canucks. once our players come back from injury his stats will go through the roof.

My guess is that the only way Shirokov comes back is if someone else is hurt during the olympics. Yes, that sounds pessimistic, but that is about our only chance. With Hansen back now, Wellwood healthy-ish and Bieksa proving he can rock it on wing, Shirokov just earned rookie of the year possibilities in the AHL.

Problem is, he makes 105k per year in the AHL and unless there is a GUARANTEE he will make the canucks next year, he can go back to the KHL.

Canucks own his rights next year so he cant sign with another NHL team on a one way either.

A hockey player only has so much time in the game , and I thought for sure the Canucks would give him a harder look than this.

That would be a healthy addition to his resume.

I think that it is up to him, if he plays well then he will make the team.

It might be due to injury, or it might be next year, but if he succeeds, then he will get a promotion.

He had that good game (2 ago?) but with last nights shutout, Shirokov needs to be excellent tonight to prove that at least one player on MTB can remember how to score goals. They are seriously hurting, offensively and defensively with Schneider called up, and I really hate to see the effect it has on Shirokov's morale, not to mention that of Keane.
