How do you make a picture of a player look cartoony like this?

I've got something that looks more like that than what T said.

Duplicate layer > High pass (5.0) > Gaussian Blur (1.0) > Set to Linear Light (65% Fill)

EDIT: Judging by the cover, you should sharpen it as well. Don't forget to grayscale the layer with high pass on it or else it'll have a teal-like tint.

if you have it in a photobucket account you can add kinda like black lines to it so that it looks kinda cartoony and you can adjust it so that you can make it what you would like it to look like... here is one that i did of my roller hockey team so you can see what it looks like.

yah in photobucket you go and edit the picture and then when your there you go to the effects menu and click cartoon. it will automatically put them in but if you got to advanced options you can change how cartoony it looks
