My question is, how good is this guy really? I know Gillis just signed him, do you its simply a depth move and he will be playing on the Moose all year? Is he good enough to make it on the big club?
Just wondering what you guys are thinking as I'm having a hard time assessing his skill.

well to be honest, the original thread about him in this section was kidnapped by off topic discussion. Won't hurt to have a fresh start solely on how good he is
Who would you rather have for the money Malkin, Ovechkin, Crosby or Luongo? Choice is simple I am not picking the guy with the over inflated pads.
And unless LUongo wins an award and or makes the conference finals, he was no better than Cloutier.
in fact, Cloutier went farther in the playoffs with the canucks than Luongo has.

samsonov has quietly ressurected his career in Carolina. Though he's not putting up much for numbers anymore, he's become an effective 2 way player who is able, at least, to contribute at both ends of the ice. He's not the player he once was, but he seems to have found a good niche in Carolina.

It's the system he is given in Carolina where he can be effective on a scoring role. T.Ruutu, E.Cole, and J.Jokinen are all looking good on the hurricanes team after looking miserable on their old teams.
