others considered-Drew Shore, Tim Erixon, Stefan Elliott, Carter Ashton, Ethan Werek, Alex Chaisson

53 Vancouver Canucks- Philippe Paradis, C Shawinigan, ranked 26th by nhl central scouting, 6"1 196, 19g/50pts

others considered- Byaden McNabb, Matthew Hackett, Ryan Howse

83 Vancouver Canucks- Burke Gallimore, RW Saskatoon, ranked 71st by nhl central scouting, 6"0 195, 26g/53pts

no scouting report on nhl.com, dicribes himself as "a physical 2-way player who likes to score goals". is a very strong player who is not afraid to drive the net and can finish when he gets there. his coach said he's the best goal scorer on the team. his skating and hockey sense are a bit above average imo too. imo he's where joel broda was last year, I'm not saying he'll score 50 next year but 40 i can see. I see him being a good 2nd/3rd line guy with 20-30 goal upside one day

My Thoughts:

John Tavares goes number one.
Toronto doesn't pass on Schenn
Scott Glennie is too high.
I have Kadri in the top 10.
Goalie won't be selected in the 1st round, not deep enough draft. Seen many goaltenders going in your mock draft. I'm surprised J-F Berube is no where to be seen.
Carter Ashton will be a 1st round pick.
Toni Rajala is too high
Tyson Barrie is too high
Simon Despres should be higher.
Gotta figure a David Gilbert would be in the top 3 rounds.
I don't see Josh Birkholz going so late. I have him higher than Paradis and several others.

Canucks perspective. Would rather pick Kyle Palmieri, but will accept Calvin De Haan. Philippe Paradis is not what I'd pick with the 2nd round.
I'd like the Canucks pick high risk and high reward, rather than a future 3rd liner.

This was said to me and it makes me laugh everytime I read it.

If I were you I would have gone for Cater Ashton. Love this guys game, IMO he is going to be as good or just a little worst than Zach Kassian. Would love if the Canucks got either of these guys.

That's also because I feel if the Canucks want one of De Haan, Elliot, Despres they copuld trade into the early second round to grab them.

My only opinion is I doubt Ashton goes in the 2nd round. I like your 2nd and 3rd round picks, very solid picks there.

ok i guess

looking at that draft; i would have taken
Erixon with the first pick
Vincour with the second
Kuchin (this guy is very very talented, a risk im very willing to take)/Svedberg with the 3rd (i know little early, but better early than never)

Kuchin was projected to be a first rounder, but has fallen, so a team can taken him in a late round; and it would be an absolutle steal

Chudinov (who i dont why he went undrafted), Klopov, Chernov, Yashin should all get considers, and im sure canucks could nab 1-2 of them very late considering the KHL emergence; but if Kuchin is available with the 3rd and canucks dont select him, tsk tsk tsk tsk

Malkin. Semin. Ovechkin. Kovalchuk.
RIP Alexei Cherepanov and Michael Jackson

Is this a joke?

Salo, Mitchell, Bieksa and Edler will be on this team forever?

We will never have to replace them right?

Why would you want Erixon? Sure, he is one of the top 3 defense man(Larsson, Rundblad being the others) after Hedman. At first, I was pretty high with him too but after examining a few games. He seems to be average at everything. He may have offensive upside but he hasn't been showing it and even then, it doesn't seem significant. There isn't anything that he is spectacular at at this point. He is the "Safe" pick to make it to the NHL, but there isn't any chances of top end skill where guys like Larsson and Rundblade or players that will probably be available at the 22 spot like De Haan or even Elliot may have. Erixon would probably round out as a top 4 defensive defense man with secondary pp chances. With the draft so deep, it seems he is highly unworthy of being picked at the 22nd spot.

The International scouting services have Erixon at the 50th position in the final ranking.

Yes we do. In fact, that's the weakest element of our prospect pool
