This is really frustrating me, I had a background layer. Then I made a new layer that is transparent, now I need to get the stock on but I will try and drag it on but it opens in a new window or resizes the whole canvas. What am I doing wrong :(

Where are you dragging it from? A folder? If so, it's supposed to open in a new window. You can always use CTRL+A and then CTRL+C to copy the image into the right window. Then use CTRL+W to quickly close the stock window.

If you're dragging an image from your Internet browser (such as Firefox or Internet Explorer), THEN you should be able to drag it into Photoshop as a layer.

File>Open>[click on the file you want]>make it into a new window above the original layer>unlock the stock>drag it in

hope that was what you were looking for :)

No matter where I drag it from it goes into a new window, I will try and use the hand tool but it won't go on as a layer.

off-topic, but does anyone know if transparencies work on the forums? Say you wanted to have something that hangs outside of a sig so that it looks like its jumping out.

yup. also, remember that the sig limits are 400x200px, so whatever hangs out, has to be included in that.

Why not just save the stock to your computer then open it in photoshop and drag it in from there. Outside of that I would have to see it to know whats going wrong.
