Jofu has made his official call on the way the prospect should be rated for the draft coming up on June 26, 2009 in beautiful Montréal. Summer truly is amazing in the area, but winter is a whole different story. No, we don't have an Autumn or a Spring, so let's not talk about it.

Well, this year, I have based my long list (1 thru 30) according to what the teams in NHL are looking for. Not what players that team in that slot will draft, but according to what NHL hockey is mainly about. Although this is not a year of the goalies, we will see a lot of strong forwards and defensemen come out of a pretty good Class of 2009.

I recently joined my friend Todd Cordell who manages our new personally-organized hockey blog to post the news and developments for the beloved Canucks, from there, I posted my Top 30 NHL prospects this year.

Some people called me crazy when I liked Zach Boychuk over the popular Mikkel Boedker and Kyle Beach, but Boychuk was close to become a full-time Carolina Hurricane despite missing training camp healing from wrist surgery. Agree or disagree, chickenman has his ideas on the draftees, Jofu now shares his with you.

Feel welcomed to take a peek @ http://nhltalk.synthasite.com/ --> Should be a link on "NHL mock draft".

did you want AV to put the skates on and play for Bieksa? It's actually not a bad idea because he cannot, possibly, be any worse than Bieksa.

Sad........but true

I don't particularly think Ekman-Larsson is ranked very high. And my friend Cody said Matt Duchene is going #1, so we're all in the dark, and nobody is totally wrong. Just don't believe from what I saw in the World Juniors that gives them a position in the top 10 or top 15.

not bad JOFU.

you arent the only one who has OEL at 22 either.

I think he goes top 12, but I have read other mocks that have him falling to 22.

If we can get OEL at 22, that would be gold.
Otherwise I'm happy with Elliott or De Haan.

Apparently, Ryan Ellis is still enters in the equation at #22. In my rankings, Ellis is down a bit despite the love affair some mock drafts has him, but the reality is that his skating is not totally perfect enough, and combine that with a relatively small stature. It could lead to a pretty underwhelming NHL career as a pure Powerplay QB. Other than that, it should also be noted that Ryan Ellis has the best offensive instincts in the Class of 2009 defense, and his slap shot, one-timer is the hardest and most accurate of his draft year. Perhaps Mike Gillis sees something in him.

About the new team blogs, we now have a Lightning blogger, Devils blogger, Ducks blogger, Canucks, Flames, Maple Leafs, and potentially a Senators blogger. It has information on the draft, rumours with reliable sources and team developments provided by people that volunteered to represent their teams. Hoping to find one for all 30 teams in the NHL. It will become very big soon, so be sure to check it out.

I don't want to see the Sedins signed for more than 12mil of our cap. If we can trade their rights to move up, I'd take that in a heartbeat. Then, we have a chance on the true offensive guys or a d-man like Ryan Ellis.
