We got Hordichuk locked up long term? Niiiiice! Hordy is awesome!
Mike Gillis's initials are GM spelt backwards......hmmmm....

Trevor Linden is a Vancouver legend...his entire speech was giving props to everyone but himself...a true champion.

This will have quite a domino effect on a lot of players, especially if it is anywhere below market value.

A. This should help the Sedins sign for long term, but for a cheap cap-hit.
B. Same for Kesler (he'll have to put his money where his mouth is on playing under market value)
C. Free agents will be more likely to sign here for cheaper
D. Frees up Schneider to be traded, either immediately or after shining as Luongo's backup in 20 games next year.

We'll know once we see the contract, but it would be nice to create a Detroit effect where players want to be here.

Of course, he could also be gouging us, and the rest would go out the window.

Burrows - Kesler - Grabner
Tavares/Duchene - Hodgson - Bernier
Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien

Bouwmeester - Mitchell

Wow if this does happen we don't really need Schneider anymore. Now there is a possibility that we could trade Schneider, Bieksa and picks to draft Hedman/Tavares/Duchene. This could get very interesting..

who replaces Ohlund though? I like this plan but if they were able to draft Hedman, that would be better.

Edler will have to step up even more to replace him. It would end up being

Bouwmeester Edler
Mitchell Salo
O'Brien FA

Oh god here we go with the Schneider for Tavares Schneider for Duchesne threads

Or as Brian Burke would say, drug induced dillusions.

Tuukka Rask was traded for a fat, overweight, and crappy Andrew Raycroft.
Al Montoya was traded for a package that included a bunch of 3rd and 4th liners and a similar quality prospect David Leneveu.

The Ducks couldn't give away Ilya Bryzgalov.

It's unfortunate that one of the Canucks top prospects is a goaltender in a sense, because no-one is giving you a blue-chip forward or dman prospect in return.

I suppose they might have a shot at Tavares or Duchene if they are dangling Schneider+Edler+1st rounder or something to that extent but there's no way in h-e-double-hockey-sticks that anyone takes a Schneider for the 2nd or 3rd overall offer seriously.
Busy cultivating useless good taste.

SUNDIN IS COMING. LOOK BUSY.

We're pretty much where I'd thought we'd be - out of the playoffs and no Demitra in the lineup. Coming in to this season anyone with a brain would be able to recognize that this isn't a playoff team, and they're performing just as I suspected they would.

Hossa and Gaborik are alot more riskier than the Sedins (especially Gaborik) and will both of them cost about $3-$4 Million more per year......not worth it IMO for a few more goals.

Schneider >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Pogge. On top of it all MG is talking to Luongo already.

I'm taking a wild shot with reading between the lines here, but IF Luongo signs, before the draft, this most likely means that this deal is done.

Schneider won't be playing here for atleast another few years. They need a goalie and Schneider would be great for them.

^^

I was referring to #2 pick proposal when the rumour emerged.

You're halfway there Gillis...Half way there!

At least we don't have lots of posters saying the Nucks should have traded for him.

I would have sent a letter bomb to Gillis if he traded a 2nd and a 3rd for Schneider.

and...there winning! Like I said before, if he scores one goal in the playoffs at the right time 6 million means nothing! Hell, if he doesn't even score and we win the cup I will shave my head bald and change my name to "Mats."

I sure hope so but we might have to give up a lot to get top 3. I don't think #1-#2 are for sale. #2 could be only if Islanders take Hedman.

signing a M.A. Bergeron, Seidenberg or Leopold are possibilites in that FA slot there.

Watch it be with a cap hit for 5 million Sedins follow suit and we get Gaborik.

Honestly there is no way in hell Gillis gets this deal done so fast he had the whole summer to negotiate with Luongo. There has to be something in the works that somehow involves Schneider. I'll be sad to see him go but if it brings in a Duchene, Hedman or Tavares, I'M ALL FOR IT.

Is it just me, or are all of the recent Canucks rumours sort of coming together?

1. Luongo and Canucks agree to extension before draft day.
2. Gillis packages Schneider, Bieksa, and 22nd overall for 2nd overall.
3. Gillis trades a pick for J-Bo's rights.
4. Gillis signs J-Bo as a replacement for Bieksa.
5. Sedins and Gillis aren't able to reach agreement.
6. Gaborik signs in his favourite city to play with his friend, as a replacement for the Sedins.
7. Neidermayer bros both sign here. Scotty replaces Ohlund, Rob to solidfy our bottom 6.

All these rumours have come from different sources, but they all seem to fit together nicely.
