Too many kids on the forum today.

This is going to get worse.

There is nothing wrong with someone putting an opinion of prospects on a forum, and its even better when they give reasons.

My question for you guys is, did you read the thread title?

People seem to be putting up lists of guys they want, which isnt what this thread is about.

Guys I would NOT want the Canucks to take in the 1st are:

Drew Shore - not high enough offensive upside
Ryan Ellis - too small, too slow, too long until we see him in the NHL
Simon Depres - not enough offensive upside, we already have solid shut down guys, not ones that can skate like Depres though
Landon Ferraro- we already have Grabner, Raymond, and Hansen.
Stefan Elliott-smart off the ice, dont see his hockey IQ being that high, Im hoping for another guy, not a slight on Elliott, I just dont see him as the BPA at 22, no matter how you cut it.

why wont we pick ryan ellis
thats as if saying red wings picking datsyuk is stupid

What the OP means is he won't really drop to 22nd. He was explosive this year and even though he may be on the short side, his skill level is immense. Him dropping to 22nd overall would be the biggest surprise of the draft.

You rather NOT any of the 3? I'm kind of confused, because he was asking who you don't want to see drafted by the Canucks.

Elliott is a pretty good young defenseman, while Duchene is the best All-round player, and Ferraro has a scoring touch with strong defensive skills. Yet, I would still love to see us give up something to trade up to select Ryan Ellis. His ability when he is on the ice is just spectacular. If he can't 'shutdown' Ovechkin, I don't blame him, because that was NEVER his game!!!

A forward; an European unless it's an absolute no brainer.

SOMEONE WE'VE ALL HEARD AND KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT.

I remember when White was drafted and this whole board in the draft thread went "WHO?!?!" , "WHAT THE FRACK NONIS!!"

please not that again.

I don't think we should draft Oliver Roy, Mike Lee, or any of the other goaltenders in the first round.. but in the second round, it is an intriguing idea.

as for maybe he's a bit nervous, he maybe but so is every other player too and they don't sound like him

listen to de haan, reminds me a lot of cody the way he handles the questions

I'd kill for Ryan Ellis. I dont even think his lack of size is an issue because he's so sound positionally.

Credit to R.Luongo. for sig.

Big resounding NO to Ryan Ellis. Three reasons:

1. We'd have to give up assets to move up.
2. Too risky, especially with our weak prospect depth.
3. Safer picks (moving up) would be OEL, Kulikov, Rundblad (who I think has just as much offensive potential as Ellis) or, if we pick 22nd, Erixon or De Haan.

I would rather not pick anyone in the first round that isn't a first rounder. How's that for an answer?

Carter Ashton. Don't see anything special.

Peter Holland, hearing all sorts of stuff about his questionable character (right there is enough reason that MG doesn't draft him).

Jordan Caron, Looks like more of a 3rd line or top 9 type forward, that and I am not a fan of the QMJHL at all.

Simon Despres, Offensive upside is not terribly high (I would think similar to Sauve's offensive upside), questions about decision making, QMJHL is not well know for pumping out quality NHL D-men, Has a really weird shaped head....

A goaltender with one of our first 2 picks (3rd-5th round goalie would be very welcomed).
