Kevin Connauton Talk

Um; Connauton is listed as 185 lbs same as Schneider played at, a similar 3rd round pick and is a PP specialist known for having to be heavily supported defensively to exist 5 on 5. At 22 Knot is probably not getting much bigger. Schneider is an almost perfect prospect comparison, aside from Knot being a better bloke and having lightweight feistiness!

I think he improved a lot last year under MacT... unfortunately this year that all seems to have gone south with Arniel (or Baumer) behind the bench.

Best of luck.

As a left-handed defenseman, he would have been hard pressed to crack a lineup that boasts Hamhuis, Edler and Garrison for the next 4-5 years.

Especially with the emergence of two right-sided defensemen in Tanev and Corrado, Connauton is expendable.

sucks to see him go, but at least he'll get a chance to play in Dallas.

people don't realize he fell out of the top spot for our defensive prospects. his defensive game didn't improve enough in his time with the canucks organization. best of luck in texas!

Best of luck, I really liked Connaution and think he has a future in this league, but we have too much depth and some guys have passed him. He will get a good opportunity in Dallas something in the near future and hopefully he can make the most of it.

Good luck Kevin.

I was surprised he had enough value to go back in a trade to Dallas, but good luck to him nonetheless. Perhaps he can make it as a bottom pairing D-man one day if he develops. It didn't look like he was going to reach that potential here.

09 draft already starting to pay dividends though!

I guess after the MAG experiment back fired on them they realized that Connauton could be going that way as well and would be a better fit for the stars.

He would be quite good with a stay at home dman. Perhaps he could learn his game from the way Dillon plays as that's about how I expected Connauton to play for us, but didn't really pan out I guess.
