Thanks for the update.
Sounds like a great character guy, a Bieksa-lite maybe?

Mental lapses have nothing to do with the skills you have. If Bieksa thought the game better, he'd be earning Jovo money. (Not that Jovo was the height of consistency before he signed his contract)
EDIT: Kind of like how people were going "Oh no! Another Naslund!" about Rodin. I'll take that skill-set any time, thanks. We can worry about if he'll still be committed to the team when he's 34 later.

I was thinking more on the offensive skill + grit and toughness-wise. Like the other poster said, if Bieksa could even cut down half his mental lapses he would be paid jovo money. Everyone hated jovo when he was here, but not until he left does everyone realize what element he brings to the team. I bet the same thing will happen with Bieksa. If MG flips him for a forward, the only one that hits on our D would be Mitchell and even he doesn't do it that often.
Leave it to Canucks fans to vastly undervalue their players.
That said no one is perfect, we will have to see how KC's defensive skill transfers to the pro game. I wouldn't bank on him being a defensive specialist though.

video of last night's game. you get to see a good hit by Kevin, and the end of his fight, plus the dust off. great stuff.
Oh, he got a 1 game misconduct for the 2nd/3rd fight to start after the original fight. I'm not sure if that applies to the next game or not, since it was at the end of the game.

But that hand dusting act and the chirping at the Rebels bench I believe is what earned Kevin a game misconduct to go with his fighting major and was why he got suspended 1 game that he will serve tonight when the Giants host the Seattle T-Birds at 5:00pm. Kyle Beach was the king of getting a GM for doing that. Even though Beach rarly ever won a clean fight.
Both clubs were fined $500 for their 2nd multiple fight game of the season.
Crappy weather out there tonight, no Canucks on TV. Come to the Rink on Renfrew. Seattle is coming in on the tailend of a 3-in-3 with travel.

no, both players from each team each got a game misconduct for the 2 fights that were started after the first one. since the misconduct is in the last 10 min of the game it's served for the next game instead (at least that's how it was when I was playing).

Kevin got a double game misconduct. One was for the fight for throwing punches while his opponent was on the ice and the linesman was trying to break it up. The other one was an add on due to his act.

I guess our D woes arent so bad.... We have two offensive defensemen (Connauton and Oberg) and two defensive defensemen in Sauve and Ellington.
Our last draft year is turning out to be a great one.
Schroeder (A projected top 15 pick)
Rodin (Project 1st Rnd Pick by Gillis)
Connauton (Nice numbers)
Anthony is coming along. Havent heard much about Peter Andersson or Jeremy Price.

Sauve seems to be coming along offensively too. From the highlights he kind of reminds me of Edler, where Connaughton's highlights remind me of the good parts of Jovo. Almost scarily so.

Nice to see he's willing to fight. Last year Cody Hodgson got suspended for one game too for a fight. Our boys got some toughness.
