So I just had a question about which current canuck prospects are set to become free agents on July 1, 2009:

As far as I can tell, this is the list, please correct if I am wrong;

Name Pos Draft yr:

Juha Alen - unknown
Evgeny Gladskikh LW 2001
Charles Messier C 2007

http://www.hockeysfu...Antoine_Messier

The above link says that the Canucks didn't sign him, so he is eligible to be drafted again this year. So he is no longer a Canucks prospect... I think...

Charles Messier can't find a team to play on. He should probably start thinking of a different career.

Thanks, RK.17 for the Sig!

Messier's career is over, had a massive injury and now cant find anywhere to play. Alen is absolutely nothing.

I don't think anyone of them will have a NHL career.

Not talented enough and there is no room for them to play.

Too bad Messier is too small to become a firefighter. With a name like that, though, he might have a future in the potato chip business.

I do believe Kris Fredheim D 2006 is a free agent

But I think he might have signed a minor deal with us

I saw him come to our prospect camps for the last 2 years

apperently he's schduled to make his debute with the moose next year.

as far as i can tell players who play college hockey, get there rights held until august 15th of the year they complete college.

That is as per the CBA, as i understand it.

Yea I think that's the same reason why none of our college players are signed.

Yeah, that's also because all our college players so far with the exception of Schroeder are projects ;) , so we're more inclined to let them spend 3-4 years there. College players are like the Euros of today, you keep their rights next to forever.
