Sauvé setup Anthony on the games first goal (the game winning goal) tonight. Anthony was +1, and is leading his team with 16 points (9 goals, 7 assists) in 15 games.

I never even got to see the pictures. At least Alicia Whitten made it worth my while to click on the thread.

Sauve and Anthony both with goals tonight in the sea dogs win. that puts them in sole possession of the top spot in the QMJHL.

Anthony now has 10 goals and 8 assists in 17 games.

24.4% shooting % is encouraging.

2.4 shots-per-game is not.

I agree but his assist totals point to Anthony being a distributer as well as a shooter. Does he have one or two more years in the Q?

Well here is what one person from HF Boards said about Anthony 3 years ago when he was a projected 1st Rounder

Quote

best talent I have seen since Sidney Crosby in the Midget ranks, this guy is really special, he is a step down from Crosby, but I would say his game and style reminds me of a young Joe Thornton, playmaking wizard, great awarness and size, he just needs to start hitting more. Everytime he is out there he creates something and he just makes you take notice.

So yeah, definitely more of a passer

Steven Anthony has been assigned a 7.0D by Hockey's Future. It doesn't mean much at all, but that is probably one of the best ratings a 7th Rounder (post-draft) has ever received.

I'd have to think that he's one of the highest.

Just noticed that he's only one letter grade under Rodin (7C).

This guy was once on par with john tavares before his stock took a complete nosedive. Let's hope he ends up living up to that potential and be the biggest 7th round steal ever. B)
I was wrong. The Sedins are legit superstars and are IRREPLACEABLE.
Common Myths:
1. A 2 way contract means you can be sent down without clearing waivers. False - All it means is you get paid an ahl salary if sent down and has nothing to do with waivers.
2. You can buyout a player any time during the year. False - There's a specific buyout period window when teams are allowed to buyout players.
3. Sending a rookie down before they played 10 nhl games saves a year on their entry level contract. False - This only applies to CHL players like hodgson who aren't 20 yet and not to players like Shirokov.

He still only projects as a third-liner from my perspective.

But I'll take an NHL player in the seventh round any year.

yeah, I'd be happy with any 7th rounder of ours making the NHL (if you get one you're already ahead of the curve, if you get a bunch, you're Detroit :P)

Hmmmm, looking back into draft history, the last 7th rounder to make the NHL is Derek Dorsett in columbus (2006 entry draft, 189 overall)
2005 had 4 players; Sergei Kostitsyn (MTL), Anton Stralman (TOR), Kyle Cumiskey (COL), and Patric Hornqvist(NSH)
2004 was the last time the canucks had a 7th or later draft pick make the NHL: a 9th rounder named Jannik Hansen (287 overall).

interestingly enough, we also have McIver (254), O'Brien (250), and Glass (265) from 2003. Meaning we have 2 9th rounders and one 8th rounder on our team right now (one being injured), and another 8th rounder with a tiny bit of nhl experience.

Anthony with a goal and an assist tonight, now up to 20 points in 20GP. Sea Dogs win 6-2 and move into 1st overall in the QMJHL with a record of 17-4-1. Sauve also got an assist tonight.
