OK OK probably doesn't need it own topic, but imagine the excitment jordan schroeder would feel playing with marion gaborik, who being a minny kid probably grew up idolizing gabby, demo, willie and the wild. maybe if marion signs here, it'll push this kid to try harder to make the team this year.

There is no way he should play with Gaborik. He is inexperienced and needs to work his way up, probably starting in the AHL.

BIBLE SPOILER: He dies.

That should be a rule on CDC, if you post in the wrong forum, you have to post a picture of someone extremely attractive immediately.

He's basically one of the most NHL ready players in the draft. He was playing with 23 year olds while he was 17 and dominated. The only reason he won't make it is because of the depth at the center position.

What will probably happen is they will obviously have him at training camp and when he doesn't make the team, the coaching staff will give him an assignment to work on over the next season on whichever team he's playing on (hopefully the Moose, so he can get used to playing more games in a season). Much like what happened with Cody Hodgson. I'm sure he was right up there last season as almost making the team, but if you look at his stats before he was drafted his +/- was horrible, so playing on a defensive team in the NHL when you have that problem isn't an option. If you look at this year, he won CHL player of the year over John Tavares, mainly because of his +/-. The other stats were a little lower, but his defensive play improved immensely. I'm pretty sure he was about +30 better than Tavares in this respect. I'm looking for Schroeder to be on the team 10/11 season.

our depth at centre isn't THAT high anymore.

we're looking at Kesler, Hodgson, Johnson, Rypien, Schroeder.... (unless we sign the sedins)

bringing in hossa/gaborik/whoever, only bolsters the wings... there is a BIG possibility Schroeder AND hodgson make the team.

I personally wouldn't mind if they did that and allowed them to grow with the big club and take a chance.

worked for kane and toews......

Most NHL ready doesn't mean NHL ready. /obvious?/ There's no reason to rush him too much.

I would like to see this

Sedin Sedin Burr
Kesler Demitra gaborik
Bernier Hodgson Schroeder (Again the kane and toews thing even though they both probably arent ready)

If i could have my way completely id drop gaborik and place in jbo

Mitchell Salo
Edler JBO
Bieksa SOB

package up schneider, raymond and a 1st for a top 6 (hartnell would be a dream)

Sedin Sedin Burr
Kesler Demo Hartnell
bernier hodgson Schroeder
hordi johnson ripper

Mitchell Salo
JBO Edler
SOB BIeksa

Lu

salary would be tight but i think it would work

He's not making the NHL this year. At the very least he'll do 1 more year of NCAA and then try making the team.

Credit to R.Luongo. for sig.

Reading my first post, i can see where you thought i meant playing on the same line, but i meant to suggest playing on the same team. i can see a possibility schroeder makes the big team if he works hard, but even if it takes an extra year, the prospect of playing with gabby on the same team, may inspire him. I am really happy that finally the nucks will have some depth up the middle in a couple years.

Demitra and Wellwood can also play center.

So the center depth chart (w/o schroeder):
Kesler, Demitra, Hodgson, Wellwood, Johnson, Rypien, Bolduc, Bliznak

Bolduc and Bliznak are likely used as call-ups during the season for injuries, etc. So that leaves the other 6 players to fill 4 spots. My guess is one more year in college before he makes the jump.

He'll stay in NCAA until he's 20. After that, he's wither with the Moose or Canucks. My gut feeling is he'll be with the Canucks by then pending organizational depth.

Shroeder is listed as a RW, which I believe is also his natural position, so I don't see why people are so adamant about putting him in our depth list for centers.

yea, i don't see schroeder this year. why would we see him as more ready than our other prospects? Just cos we took him in the first round.
