Jordan is full of confidence. But kind of selfish..as he matures..he will play better. Didnt Kovalchuk have an attitude problem too?

One of Schroeder's strenght is his playmaking ability. He tend to always try to use his teamates around him as much as he can. Because of that, he's a pass first shoot second type of player even tho he poccesses some really strong wrist shots that can make him a deadly sniper.

Jordan Schroeder is anything but selfish if you had remotely do some research on his scout reports in the last few days.

Confident? yes. Selfish? hell no.

AT 3-5 Million a season Luongo is a good goalie, anything more is robbery.

Who would you rather have for the money Malkin, Ovechkin, Crosby or Luongo? Choice is simple I am not picking the guy with the over inflated pads.

p.s.

And unless LUongo wins an award and or makes the conference finals, he was no better than Cloutier.

in fact, Cloutier went farther in the playoffs with the canucks than Luongo has.

He will be good but not better than CoHo.

Jordan Schroeder is a potential 40goal+ superstars who we can expect to see him breaking the 90 points mark sometimes in his career while Coho is a potential 80 points star.

talent wise Schroeder is better than Hodgson

If the Oilers didn't take him..Why didn't they take him..probably cause of his size..Schroeders gonna be awesome in years to come

The Oilers didn't take him because their team and system is loaded with small players, that and MPS was the obvious pick at #10.

If any of that has substance towards how Shroeder's character really is, I'm sure having a guy like Hodgson will help him mature. Though I doubt that is anything other than proof of a kid on a mission to make it to the NHL level. I understand attitude is not something you can teach someone, that comes from one's own character... but confidence isn't something easily taught either (see Naslund). It's good to see a kid who is as determined as he's quoted to be. Reminds me a bit of Kesler. There will always be haters.

There's some substance here. I'm sure some of these guys don't want to go to certain places and will say certain things to ensure that. With Gillis' crew, maybe he spouted the words "People say I have character and integrity moving forward."

HAHHA hahaa another gem!

Yes, i read pre draft that Schroeder had a couple of really bad interviews with teams that really turned them off. But Gillis said he liked the kid's character, and interviews with coaches and teammates seem to be pretty positive. Maybe he though he was telling the interviewers what they wanted to hear, and that he thought they wanted a confident, competitive player.

What did you expect? He is a 17 year old fo petes sakes, you'd be cocky too if you scored like he did in his first season of NCAA.

This kid is good, and I am excited to see what he does in the future, as for now I will try and not over hype him too much and make myself have too high of expectations for him because that would be foolish, but this kid is going to be good.

Not so sure that this is an accurate report:

"He slipped down the draft due to his size and, likely, an untimely fade near the end of the world junior tournament in Ottawa.

"I think that's fair," Schroeder said of the criticism. "I didn't play my best late in the tournament. It happens to players and I learned from it. I'm a better player because of it.""

I can live with a player who has interview problems, he has been described many times as a character guy. A little confidence never hurts. Besides, at worst, he is a Patrick Kane kind of prick. Thats how I see it, anyways.

Welcome Jordan Schroeder!

Well it does say in the report that Jordan blamed everyone but himself when he played for USA. So he might be guilty or not, just dont know 100% if this is true or not. But in time he WILL learn.

Last I checked he still has an attitude problem, also, remember when Ovechkin had that feud with his coach in Washington on his rookie year, about staying on the ice cherrypicking during a penalty kill.
