Facepalm on every single person saying your disappointed in MG.
Teams can't build through free agency. Do you see Pittsburgh or Detroit signing any big name players? NYR was just so good with Gomez and Druy right?
The man speaks the truth. This time of the year is the worst time on these boards. You cannot just go out there and ink these overrated forwards to long term deals. Most gifted fowards want long term deals, hence it's where the money is. Someone said they wouldn't mind Gionta??? The guy is a plug and at 5 mill per he is now one of the most overpaid top six forwards in the game today. Montreal isn't looking any better IMO just because they have 3 bigger named guys up front. This doesn't mean they are going to instantly connect and have chemistry. Plus all 3 are being way overpaid (maybe except Cammi). The Canucks don't need any of these types of players. They have the same team as last year minus Ohlund who I can guarentee will be replaced with another top 4 D man(Gillis clearly knows this). Opening night isn't for 2 and a half months and until than people should shut their mouths and see what the summer holds. We have arguably the best amateur player in the world coming off an outstanding year in junior coming into our lineup who in my mind will notch 20 or more goals giving us some dirt cheap offence and cost us nothing. People need to get their heads out of their asses and realize why Gillis was hired in the first place. He is a buisness man with buisness incentives putting logic before stupid impulsive decisions to keep people happy (hint Gainey/Tallon hint). All these big name UFA's are not what the Canucks need to be a better team. The team needs its young guns like Kesler, Raymond, Hodgson, and Bernier to step their mother f*ckin games up and get the job done. There will be some tweaking either through free agency of trades. I believe in Mike Gillis and I think you should too. 2 wicked 1st rounders, the best playoff performance in 14 years, and keeping the team's core players here without blowing the budget. Go Canucks Go!!!!!!
