I like Wellwood, but if he leaves, I think there are plenty of players that can take his place.

CoHo is a bust by no means, but Welly is definitely a better NHLer at this point. And Kyle did really well as the 3rd line center once he patched up his defensive game...he didn't do as good as Kesler, but he filled in admirably considering Kesler is one of the best shutdown players in the league.

I wasn't impressed by Wellwood until the playoffs last season. Bring him back, 1.5 million a season, 2 year deal. I have never been so happy to be wrong about a player.

Up to $1.5 million for Wellwood is a solid deal, I think, if he plays as well as he did during the second half of last year.

With the cap so tight, anymore than $1M will be trouble for the Canucks. Wellwood might end up on the bubble anyway with Hodgson and Grabner wanting to make the team.
