History
2003-04: Gendur made his Junior A debut with the Cowichan Valley Capitals, playing 17 games and compiling 11 points.

2004-05: Gendur transitioned to the WHL and joined the Prince George Cougars. He appeared in 60 games but registered just eight points.

2005-06: Plagued by injuries, Gendur got into only 19 games, scoring just three points.

2006-07: After seven points in 13 games with PG, Gendur was dealt to the Everett Silvertips. He really picked up his game in Everett, tallying 42 points in 48 games, by far his most productive stint of his entire major junior career. He was a surprise draft pick by the Canucks on Draft Day.

2007-08: A true breakout year for Gendur who scored 29 goals and 84 total points in just 60 games with the Silvertips this season, outscoring highly touted younger prospects like Zach Hamill and Kyle Beach.

Talent Analysis
Gendur has always had very good speed but prior to his trade to Everett had been unable to convert his wheels into point production. A hard worker who also possesses a powerful shot, Gendur seems to be a late bloomer who is just coming into his own. His puck skills are not very good and it will have to be his work ethic that carries him into the next stages of his career.

Future
Gendur’s stock has likely risen significantly after last season’s offensive outburst. Originally dismissed as a fringe prospect at best, his overage performance will give him a longer look at training camp this September. However, due to the glut of young 20-something forwards in the Canucks’ system at the moment, he will likely be in a battle to start the year in Manitoba (AHL) vs in Victoria (ECHL).

Just thought I'd post this guy's profile up.
He had a great season in 07/08

But what were his stats in 08/09?
Can he make the Moose?

Discuss CDC'er who want a break from all this Heatley and Jaybo commotion.

I think for only 10 games on the bottom lines.
I hope he surprises a bunch of people and gets several minutes next year on the Moose.

I like his name :)

Hockeydb shows he played 52 games for the Salmon Kings this year, posting 9 goals and 29 assists to go along with 97 PIM and an even rating. Not bad for his rookie season, even at the ECHL level (placed himself 7th in team scoring.) He certainly didn't blow anybody away, but if he has a good camp with the Moose he has a shot. It does also depend on the guys Manitoba brings back. I do like the fact he racked up some penalty minutes. Shows his intensity level is there.

You just don't do it. Don't even think about it.

i remember people either busting their nuts over the pick at the time or people being indifferent as he was an older player who should put up decent points in his overage year in the whl. most thought he'd stick with the moose but they had a lot of players to get ice time for. 5th in forwards in scoring on the SKs and one of the younger forwards. Its not bad for a 7th rounder, though its someone they could have also probably just signed but meih. he'll probably get another shot with the moose but probably will end up in the ECHL again

Gendur is a way better skater than Jaffray and I think his ceiling is higher because of that!

I think that with the loss of Krog, Jaffray and Cullen that Gendur has a fairly decent chance of making the Moose full-time this year.

A decent chance I would say. He needs to have a VERY good camp to be guaranteed anything.

Edler point prediction: 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points / Edler point counter: 0 goals, 7 assists and 7 points.

Gendur seems to be a complimentary player. Put in the right situation, with some excellent players, he can feed off of them and perform admirably. But he doesn't seem to have the skill to make much offense happen on his own merits.

He'll probably have to improve his defensive abilities, so that he can fit in the bottom 6 with the Moose. Then he may be able to work up from there.
Teams that had a more successful year than the Canucks:
Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Carolina Hurricanes...
...That's it.
