Players I would want
Chicago
Ben Eager- He killed us on the fourth line in the playoffs
Troy Brouwer- Born in Vancouver, good third line guy
Kris Versteeg- Scoring winger
Boston
Phil Kessel- Future star if he remains healthy, but would have to offer a high offer sheet and give up good draft picks.
Calgary
Dustin Boyd- Tough checking center
Detroit
Jiri Hudler- Was the most productive player in the nhl putting up 57 points with only 14 minutes of ice time.
Ville Leino- Was a star in Finland, still adjusting to North American game but very talented.

Hudler is an incredible deal, I didn't see that he was an RFA, but yeah I totally agree, he'd be awesome, same with Kessel and I think they'd both be worth it, even at the cost of a pick. Kessel is essentially a 40 goal scorer, don't forget that, and there's never very many of those in a draft, particularly for us, also none that can perform right away. Hudler is awesome too.

I thought that way to but it has to be your pick and not aquired pick unless it was your orginal pick. We still could build up draft choices and use them as assets in trades. Teams with cap problems will want prospects with low cap hits or draft choices. Giving offer sheets are out so we will need to go the trade route. IF you go trade route then it would be a list of UFAs and RFAs but the UFAs you would have a better idea on how they will be in the future. MG can not afford to give contracts with big cap hits (>2.5 mill) as we do not have cap space unless you trade LU or the Sedins. Demitra's 4 mill will go to partially cover the decline in cap next year.

Ryan Clowe - Would be great fit for this team...tough, gritty and one of the only sharks that picks his game up in the playoffs.
Dubinsky - gritty center
Cam Barker - Future stud d-man.
I'd go for Cam Barker (3million) and Ryan Clowe (2.5million).
These two signings would make our team nastier, bigger, and provide us with a top six forward and a top 4 dman.
Sedin Sedin Burrows
Clowe Kesler Demitra
Bernier Hodgson Hansen
Ripper Johnson Hordi
Mitchell Bieksa
Barker Edler
Salo O'Brien
clowe in the 2nd line?! he is a 3rd/4th liner player

IIRC, he spent a decent amount of time on SJ's 2nd line last season.
Anyways, my order for RFAs for Gillis to pursue are:
1. Cam Barker (D, Chicago) - He's the kind of guy we need to replace Ohlund, only he's young and should play a huge role in our defensive core in the coming years.
2. Phil Kessel (C, Boston) - At 21, he's got excellent potential to be a PPG forward that could even play with the Sedins for a dynamite first line. Otherwise, he'd still be an excellent addition to our second line. He's probably gonna need a high offer, though, and we don't want to sacrifice too many draft picks to get him.
3. Kris Versteeg (W, Chicago) - He had a fantastic rookie campaign and would be a really good addition on the second line (he could also play with the Sedins).
4. Jack Johnson (D, LA) - Another young defenseman that could replace Ohlund. Johnson has lots of potential.
5. Denis Grebeshkov (D, Edmonton) - Like Johnson, Grebeshkov has plenty of potential and put up good numbers last season offensively.
Of course, I think we should only pursue 1 of these RFAs, 2 MAX if our UFA/trade options become limited.

Versteeg all depends on the $$ it would take to get him out of Chi because of the compensation. Im not giving up 1st for anyone on that list save for Kessel and at that not more than 1 1st.
