I am starting to wonder if Gillis is a little slow in the head. WTF? Why did he sign these two sh it players? Oh man this is too frustrating to watch.

I bet Lawerence Nycolat is the solution Gillis was thinking as the puckmover

Since Ohlly is out, Nycolat doesn't seem that bad of an option

he is very good on the powerplay

Well at least it's... something. :P

Let's hope they are precursors to something larger.

That may be a possibility. Why would Nycholat be re-acquired from the Avs. Did we not have him a while back. Are we loading up on some depth for a trade.

I really hope Sundin has advised Gillis what he is going to do. If he has indicated that he will play one more year for us than most of the remaining salary cap is there for him.

It is also very quiet in Senator land. If Mats is going to retire than is there a possibilitry that a Senator might be given an offer to come here. If he really wants out of Ottawa, maybe he is willing to re-negotiate his contract so that it is possible to move faster. Also Beauchemin is a possibility as well.

Wild guesses but stranger things have happened.

The only thing I remember from Nycholat when he held the puck for like 5 minutes when Mattias was calling for it then fired a pass down the middle. It landed right on the tape of the others team player stick and bam in our net. :\

If the defense stays fairly healthy, I doubt we'll see Nycholat or Baumgartner at all this season. They're both good depth signings though. If MG does do anything more exciting my guess is it still be over the next week or two.

Huh...I didn't think we had Baumgartner anymore...I liked him if in fact it's the same Baumgartner i saw a long time ago...I was disappointed to not see him on the ice anymore.

In the words of my 3 year old nephew..."GO NUCKS!!"...I think my nephew will make a fine hockey player...when I was explaining to him about the players going into the penalty box...I said they were getting a "time out"...my nephew had horror in his eyes...he hates "time out"...rest assured he'll probably stay clear of the penalty box...he seems to have already picked up soccer as well and was telling us how to kick the ball properly...btw...he's wondering what happened to the Canucks posters at MacDonalds and was quite concerned it was no longer there...he was also surprised I wasn't into "hockey books"...is there such a thing??

A plug would mean he's useful in filling holes.

A turnover machine is what he really is. :)

Because we all know that sending better players to the Manitoba Moose to make them competitive is definately BAD for developing prospects.
It must be a fact that a losing team culture is good for anyone's development

I love how we're arguably in the bottom two when it comes to teams in the division now. Lose Ohlund, gain these three skids; Calgary gets Bouwmeester, Edmonton gets Khabi and possibly Heatley, Minni gets Havlat and likely Saku Koivu, Colorado is the dweller, but what the !@#% have we done? Next to nothing.

I'm peeved. Come on Gillis, work your magic.

Baumer had problems but so did the whole d and team. Look at all the bad passes Cody made that led to scoring chances. The Moose were using a relatively young d so they were prone to mistakes. Baumer is a fill stop. I think MG will give prospects chances so they can increase their value. Cheap cap hit players for possible trade later this year.

Agreed, and yes CH was defensively brutal on more than a couple occasions.
