Who Wants Mats Sundin To Stay?

Sundin signs a one year deal 1-3 million dollars (would answer so many questions and posts on the CDC boards if he resigned) starts from the START of the season kicking of where he started with Demo and Kes and gets more conditioning at training camp. Fans love to see how much he is efecting the team after just 5 games, scoring two goals and three helpers. Kesler has 3 goals 1 helper and Demo has 1 goal 4 helpers. This could very much be a true and posible future.
also leaving cap space for signing an PUCK-MOVING defensemen with grit, (Beauchemin or even Cam Barker, unlikely)
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Demitra - Sundin - Kesler
Bernier - Hodgson - Grabner (Bernie has a big body and is good infront of the net, CoHo develops into a great playmaker and gets 50+ points in his first season, Grabner shows his soft hands making us proud!)
Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien
Hansen
As said above, the signing leaves space for signing that defensmen we really need.
Bieksa - Mitchell
Edler - Beuchemin/Salo
Salo - Seidenberg/McIver
Rome
Luongo resigns, Schneider sadly has to leave along with raymond and wellwood in a trade. (could also bring us a really good player or a few of them
Luongo
Back-up required in trade. With a cap hit of 1 mil or less.

Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien
Grabner

Honestly, if at 2 mil or so, bring in Sundin again. He will always be a threat (even a diminished one). If you can't get those numbers, I still say look at Ales Kotalik. His money last season was 2.5m, and he has good skills. With the Sedin's, expect him to be more consistent here. Then Burr could drop to the second line and we'd have a couple solid front lines, a potential line in the third line (hodgson as center) and make a tough fourth line of bruisers.
Where are all these rumors coming from?!

okay, 50 + maybe was a bit high but i really think this guy could make 40 points next season. BUT, we should sign wellwood for one year and then bring in Hodgson when both Demitra and Wellwood are UFA's. Kotalik.. RUSLAN FEDOTENKO is the cheapest and best fit for our forward lines in my opinion. read my other thread if your interested in hearing why. Kotalik is not a bad player, don't get me wrong but Fedotenko is a better fit looking at cap and what he can bring to the team

I could see him pulling off an excellent rookie campaign at 50+ points, but I'm not at all expecting it. I'm expecting a solid all-around performance by him with around 30 points. The following season, though, I can easily see 50-60 points from him, so long as he develops well this season.

I don't think Fedetenko is a bad option. I guess it depends on what you want from your signing. I think if Sundin DOES NOT sign, you take Kotalik. Same type of money. If Sundin is back, then you don't sign Kotalik, as your spending to much money on the front end, and have nothing left to fill our defensive needs.
Fedetenko is not as good a fit on the top line with the Sedins as Kotalik, I think. This is where we need to assess a forward need better. IF you are comfortable having Burrows as a top line forward with the Sedins, then Fedetenko is a good signing as a second liner. I think your better option is to sign Kotalik as a top liner with the Sedins, and drop Burrows down to the second line. Not that I don't like Burrows, I do. I just think his speed may be better suited to playing with Kesler, who should get even better this year, or even with Hodgson, as Hodgson should be able to hit him with a nice pass as he blazes through the neutral zone. I think Kotalik has more offensive(read goal scoring) to his game, which would work good with the Sedins. I also think he will be much more consistent if playing with them.
*EDIT: By same type of money, I am assuming Sundin is not being offered $10m again. By all reports, if he does come back, it will be at around $2m to $3m.

okay that sounds like a good plan.. I don't like burrows on the first line either and reuniting him and Kes now.. sparks mig fly in a good way

overall i think there will be less buyers for kotalik because he was terrible for the oilers last year, and fedotenko has 2 rings.

He'll put up 60-70 pts, and we'll all be stoked about it at the end of the year.
It's too bad that Gillis wouldn't even think of trading demitra, cause if we sign Sundin, then move demitra... that would be great.
Sedin,Sedin,UFA/Grabner/Trade
Kesler,Sundin,Burrows
Raymond,Hodgson,Bernier
Hordi,Johnson,Rypien
(Grabner/Wellwood spare)
Make a trade where Demitra, Schnieder and our 1st for Kovalchuk .... mmmmmm.....
Then if our team sucks this year and tanks the whole season, We can always trade away Kovalchuk for picks and prospects.
I think the biggest Key to the Canucks success is to make a lineup that is interchangeable, as we all know AV will be moving people around when he feels like it, so we might as well give him players that can all player with each other.

Iwouldn't mind having him back ,But at what price. Plus i wouldn't want him to play half a season.
