could be the right guy to fill the hole for Ohlund (Beauchemin could even be better)
could be the right guy to the hole for a puck moving defensemen.
so here is the thing, Vancouver doesn't need an offensive defensemen we need an defensive defensemen who can pass the puck and play the PP. Beauchemin is the perfect fit! He also has been mentored by one of the best puck moving defensmen in the league, Scott Niedermayer
Beauchemin is just hitting his prime.
would a 2 year deal NTC 3-4 mil deal sound like a good plan
I am aware that other puck moving defensemen are out there but they can't fill the hole that Ohlund left.

But yes, Beauchemin is the ideal fit to replace Ohlund if the price is right.
agreed,
we dont need to start being the rangers and just signing people for lots of money at random.

Would love to have him though, he would be one of the guys on my wish list. I think we could fit him under but it would be tight, and might hurt us down the road.
It's true, however, Unless he loses his skill, and really declines in his early 30's, he's a great deal at 4.5 given the current value of d-men of his kind.
Sign Him, and O'Brien, D-Core = Complete for 6 million more against the Cap,

Oh I totally agree, I just think we have to make sure we can fit him in not only now, but for the future as well. I would really like our d with him, extremely deep, and for the most part young.

Anyway, I want Beauchemin if the price is right, but have no illusions, he is a defensive defenseman who can move the puck okay but is not someone you want to rely on to do that and is by no stretch of the imagination a puck-moving defenseman or power-play QB. He has a rocket of a shot and he's a good passer, but that's it.

Marian Gaborik left the ice early in tonights game with an apparent "i don't like getting yelled at" injury located where his balls should be.
