Yep, it also looks bad having it publicly known that burke was flying out to their hometown to be ready to sign them as soon as freeagency hits. Clearly a not so subtle attempt to mess with the Canucks negotiations.

ugh yes that is tampering because then that player knows you want them.. sedins might of heard that and waited to hear what the maple leafs offer was who knows maybe we the canucks had to pay them more because of this and the way burke cries wolf every time someone else says something like that he should have to give up picks. just like when kevin lowe said he would love to have perry and burke complained it was tampering

No doubt about it. Losing the Sedins to the Laffs would've stung, big time. Esp. if they had done anything significant.
