It feels like management is giving up on him a little early if MG does ship him out for very little. Admittedly, he didn't exactly blow anyone away with his play last year but he was good in his own end of the rink. I would hope that he'd be included as part of a package.

I can't believe people are criticizing Hansen after basically his first NHL season.
He put up 21 points in 55 games which is a 0.38 PPG. Not bad for a guy hovering the 3rd and 4th lines, plus he is quite reliable defensively. Raymond gets more slack and yet he only put up 23 points in 72 games which is 0.32 PPG and he had his fair share of opportunities in the top 6. I would say Hansen is a pretty successful pick considering he was chosen in the 9th round.
Hansen is only 23 and still is full of potential, I would hate to see him dealt unless we get a decent return. If I was going to trade someone, I'd deal Raymond before Hansen since Raymond would likely have more "value".

There's really no spot for him on the team. We have more than enough scorers to fill up the top 9. The only place I can see him is the fourth with Hordichuk and Johnson, but I think Rypien is better there. Maybe package him up with Schneider or another forward for a defenceman?

I could see Gillis trying to get a young defense-man similar to Hansen. Similar in that he has shown potential and has had shots at the NHL but hasn't been able to put it all together. A guy with kind of could be a 4 defense-man but will most likely be a 5/6 guy.
