My projected forward line-up with him:
Sedin-Sedin-burrows
Kesler-Demitra-Tanguay
Grabner-Hodgson-Bernier
Rypien-Johnson-Hordichuk/Hansen(I prefer Hansen, don't need two fighters in the line-up)
You will notice Raymond isn't there, I believe he will be part of a package to improve our defense.

we have luongo back there, so i think the bigger priority is scoring. there is no guarantee that burrows will notch 28 again. kesler's long range scoring ability is still somewhat up in the air.

Yeah we do need scoring...but in order to score you need some defensemen that can carry the puck up the ice...not bank it off the boards every play.

Or perhaps signing beauchamin.
Beauchemin is too expensive. I wanted him here too but once I heard he was looking for $4.5 million, I knew he was out of our price range. We just don't have the cap space for him, or Tanguay, just like I posted in the last Tanguay thread. When will everyone realize this? We don't need top names. We need strong depth signings at affordable rates, and we need to stay flexible when it comes to the cap.

Brouwer or Fehr don't fill any need for us. Bergeron would likely cost more than he's worth, and all we'd get is another Bieksa, minus the physicality. I like Bieksa, but one is enough thank you.
Kurtis Foster I believe is the best option available to us at a price we could manage. Hopefully Gillis feels the same way.

We have over 10 million in cap space with already having 13 forwards and 4 good defense-men signed. Take away who Tanguay would be replacing(most likely Raymond/Grabner) and the additional cap will most likely be around 3.5 million. Tanguay will most likely come cheaper than most as teams that had cap space to add a big name player have already made their moves, we could get him in the 4.5 range, which we can afford.
We then just need to focus on bringing in another 3-3.5 million dollar defense-man which is very possible.

This is what I've been talking about. We had $10.5 million in cap space, yes. We just signed Samuelsson, and I'm not sure for how much just yet. But getting right up against the cap isn't a great idea, we need room for deadline deals or injuries. Also, we need the flexibility for next season. This is the main problem with all these proposals.
Are you people capable of seeing beyond next season??
