What's the point of signing more 4th liner and AHL'ers?

Hordichuk and Johnson will most likely anchor the 4th line, and with Rypien being the 3rd man, unless he gets injured again. Even then, we have Hansen who should be getting playing time as well, plus a few players currently in Manitoba who can fill in that role: Bolduc and Labrie.

RIP Luc Bourdon

Thats the way it is now. IF you're rich you go to the game. If you are middle class you watch in hd, if you are lower class you watch in sd. If you are broke azz you listen to the radio.

Already linked by the OP but I thought worth quoting (especially the "Talent Analysis" section and other parts I've bolded):

Tanner Glass

Prospect Grade: 6.0 C

History

Glass appeared on the junior hockey scene in 2001-02 with the Penticton of the BCHL. He had a solid rookie campaign, totaling 39 points and 171 PIM in 57 games played. IN his second year in the league Glass started strong with Penticton, averaging over a point per game in the first 50 games of the season before being dealt to the Nanaimo Clippers. He continued to play well on Vancouver Island, finishing his last 18 games with 22 points. The Panthers made him a late round selection, 265th overall in 2003, deep into the ninth and final round. Glass made the decision to attend college, and played the 2003-04 season for Dartmouth College of the NCAA. He scored four times and had seven helpers in 26 games during his freshman season.

2006-07 season: Tanner Glass completed a superb four-year career at Dartmouth College leading the Big Green to a share of the Ivy League title. The Craven, SK native served as Dartmouth's captain this season. He finished fourth on the team in scoring with 28 points (8 goals, 20 assists) in 32 games. Of his eight goals, four came on the power play. He also led Dartmouth with 92 penalty minutes. Glass was named an honorable mention to the All-Ivy League team. He was also the recipient of Dartmouth's McInnis Award, which is given to the player who best reflects the spirit, camaraderie, loyalty and dedication to the team.

2007-08: Split what was his first full professional season between the Amerks and the Panthers, returning to Rochester to finish the year. He had 11 points in 43 games with Rochester. Glass played on the fourth line during his 41-games stay with Florida.

Talent Analysis

Glass is a reliable, hard-working two-way forward noted for his great leadership. He is a player who leads by example and will do whatever it takes for the betterment of his team. Glass is a fierce competitor who isn't afraid to mix things up. His quickness and speed allows him to win many battles to loose pucks. He is defensively responsible and can play in virtually any type of situation. Glass possesses a good shot with a very quick release. He has good on-ice vision and awareness and anticipates remarkably well. He plays with a very active stick and excels almost equally in making passes as he does in taking away passing lanes. Glass is also strong along the boards and in the corners. He has also demonstrated a knack for scoring timely goals

Sounds like a Gillis-type player.

It's a two-way contract. He'll stay in Manitoba unless there's injuries. He's a better player than Bolduc or Labrie. Depth is a very good thing.

Only in Vancouver would you find a 5 page topic about a guy that won't even play for us.
And remember folks, attack the opinion, not the person.

Which I really like because, often, that means that guys are all on the same page and there aren't "egos" to contend with....just hard workers who want to win.

Just because it doesn't help the Canucks win, it doesn't mean that it has no use. For example, signing a guy like Glass may protect our assets (Schneider, Grabner) in the AHL from getting the crap kicked out of them by other AHL goons.

Yea I was thinking of the same thing. Stewart could be very good depth. Although I think the problem is he won't sign a two way contract and we have too many players signed for the bottom 6.
