I really cant see Cory Schneider being the backup to Luongo like come on, Schneider has to much talent to be a backup for Luongo, expecially since there has been talk that Luongo is going to extend his contract, so I say we trade Schneider give him a shot on a NHL team and see what we can get out of it.
With that all said now does that allow Sanford back up again!

Andrew Raycroft is a UFA. Toss 7-800k his way to play 10 games this season, decent deal for both sides.

I think you let Scheneider play 15 to 20 games this year and if luongo resigns you trade him at a higher price. Like Dallas did to get Brad Richards with Mike Smith. Only if Luongo signs.

Cory Schneider has proven nothing yet in the nhl. He didn't look good playing the few games at the nhl level with the canucks past season. So being a backup can help gain some exprience.
game 6 was one of the horrible games canucks ever played

Schneider has great potential as a goaltender in the NHL.
I think that giving him the backup position behind Roberto Luongo would be spectacular for him.
I mean, just think, Lui could teach Schneider so much, plus when you give Lui the night off some times you can get a great performance out of Schneider and aslo gain some NHL experience. At least 10 games for Schneider would be good. Then, depending on if Luongo re-signs or not, Schneider may be packaged up in a deal for a trade(if Luongo signs long-term). Or if Luongo doesn't re-sign, Schneider may become our starter, or we may sign a different goalie. But hopefully Luongo re-signs!!!

Jedi Luongo can teach the force to young Schneider, and Kesler to young Schroeder

i think schneider will need to play at least 15 games max 20 because luongo is playing for team canada(i think) and he will need the extra rest?

As soon as Luongo gets extended, I'm willing to bet that Schneider will be traded as he's redundant with us. Gillis will probably extend Luongo, trade Schneider, and sign some no-name backup.

Sanford always made me nervous whenever he played. He was too short so he would always go down way to early leaving upstairs wide open. Everytime the puck was in our zone he had me on the edge of my seat, was so much for confident with LaBarbera as the back-up whenever he played.

No, we can't do better. The better the backup, the more games he'll want to play.

A bunch of games in the Moose are better than 10 in Vancouver. I agree with the guy above that said we should try and get Raycroft.

Also Schinder is only worth trading if we can get something good. Chicago proved that two good goalies is a good thing.

The prob;em with leaving Schneider in the AHL is he knows he has got little to prove after carrying the moose to the finals. All he can do is win a Calder Cup doesn't really matter. He probably thinks he belongs in the NHL and will do whatever it takes to be there next season.

I would hope we don't make roster decisions because of Team Canada committments. It should be TC that worries about that not us.

schneider needs to prove he can play at the nhl level. i think cory would be excited to be luongos back-up for a year. he'd probably learn quite a bit from him as well.
