1. If Burrows does not pan out or goes cold with the Sedins, Samuelsson could be slotted in.
2. He could play wing on a line with Demitra and Kesler and add to the two-way ability of the line.
3. He could play on the third line and add more experience as well as skill to the bottom 6.

Agreed.
If we acquire Samuelsson (which I really hope we do), then a Hansen or Raymond will be packaged with Schneider to bring in a puck-moving d-man.

I wonder if we could sign Samuelsson to a 2 or 3 year deal at about $2.5m per, then offer sheet Barker for $3.5m for 4 years.
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Samuelsson - Kesler - Demitra
Bernier - Wellwood - Hodgson
Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien
Hansen/Raymond
Salo - Mitchell
Bieksa - Edler
Barker - SOB
Rome
Luongo

Its all whether or not we can sign Luongo to a contract extension...and i sure hope people on CDC arent thinking Samuelsson is a top 6 forward, this guy excelled in Detroit because he is a solid 2 way player, he also averages 5 shots a game! something this team needs.

Borderline? This guy has been a constant 40-point player getting 12-15 minutes on Detroit's third line. This guy is a top six forward on any other team.
