NEW YORK - Tyler Arnason signed a two-way contract with the New York Rangers on Friday.

The 30-year-old spent last season with the Colorado Avalanche, scoring five goals and 22 points in 71 games.

He joins his fourth NHL team after stops in Chicago, Ottawa and Colorado. In 487 career games, Arnason has 88 goals and 245 points.

The Blackhawks selected him in the seventh round of the 1998 draft.

Also Friday, the Rangers announced that they had signed free-agent forwards Corey Locke and P.A. Parenteau.

Locke is a former Canadian Hockey League player of the year who has appeared in one career NHL game -- with the Montreal Canadiens in 2007-08. Parenteau suited up in five NHL games with the Blackhawks in 2006-07.

Worst GM = Glenn Sather.

Oh great, he'll be a perfect fit there. Colorado fans are just happy to have him off their team.

Not bad.

Talk about oversize sig.

Anyways Arnason couldn't even crack the lineup when half of their team was hurt and filled with young kids.

Great signing.

Tyler Arnason doesn't daydream. He's too busy giving other people nightmares.

It makes sense. It's most likely that Dubinsky will slide up and center Gaborik, much like he did when he adequately centered Jagr. Arnason will probably fill a 4th line center role in NY.

This tells me that the Rangers are not going to sign a center to play with Gaborik, and will look to add a PP QB. My bet is that they get Zubov (who I think is the perfect fit for Vancouver) or they will be strong competition to land Kaberle.
Busy cultivating useless good taste.

SUNDIN IS COMING. LOOK BUSY.

We're pretty much where I'd thought we'd be - out of the playoffs and no Demitra in the lineup. Coming in to this season anyone with a brain would be able to recognize that this isn't a playoff team, and they're performing just as I suspected they would.

Zubov does a full circle and goes back to the Rangers?

He did win a cup there, you never know.

Edler point prediction: 12 goals, 33 assists and 45 points / Edler point counter: 0 goals, 7 assists and 7 points.

Well.. it's just a two way contract. No big deal.. decent signing, actually. Probably just for the AHL.

The funny part is, he got "worst" right in the first line...
Teams that had a more successful year than the Canucks:
Pittsburgh Penguins, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Carolina Hurricanes...
...That's it.
