This could have gone in one of the many other threads, one at least on this page, about Beauchemin. Then again, we could have skipped it altogether, since in every one of those other threads, we've covered why this doesn't work.
Beauchemin is asking for a $4.5 million dollar contract, and if you ask me, he's worth it (considering what other defencemen make). Unfortunately, that also means he's out of our price range, as we have a number of roster spots to fill, and only so much cap space. It was $10.5 million, but I'm not sure what the Samuelsson signing takes that number down to. We also need the flexibility moving forward. I've been talking about Beauchemin for months, and he would be a great addition. But we just don't have the cap space anymore if he's asking for that much.
