It would be like being the best 250cc MotoGP rider, but never good enough to handle a full MotoGP season.

I'm betting he gets a real chance to play for the Thrashers. John Anderson, the former coach of the Wolves is now the coach of the Thrashers. He coached the Wolves while Krog was there and got the most out of himn. When Krog had 112 points for the Wolves, his closest linemate was 40 points less. Playing for Anderson, Krog put up 192 points in 124 games. With a coach that knows him well, and knows how to use him, I think this could be the best chance for him.

The Moose exist so the Canucks have a place to develop players for the NHL. If they didn't feel that Jason Krog was part of their future plans (or JJ or anyone else), clearing that space for younger talent that can potentially get to the NHL.....that is not a problem.
Jason Krog deserves another chance at NHL but it wasn't going to be with Vancouver...simply too strong up front and with some decent prospects in the hopper, Jason simply wasn't in the right spot to further his career.
