Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Demitra-Kesler-Sammy
Bernier-CoHo/Wellwood-Grabner/Raymond/Hansen
Hordi-Rypien-Johnson
But what about the defense we still have what 7 million left in cap and we need to sign a backup which shouldnt be too hard but i think we cant bring up schnieder because playing 12 games at the NHL level isnt good for his development while 60+games at the AHL level is better.
For Defence Francois Beauchiman would be fantastic to sign but realistacally he is too much money, SO we have are solid top four of
Bieksa-Mitchell
Salo-Edler
And then we have a bunch of guys who can basically play 6 or 7 such as Aaron Rome, Rob Davison (if we extend) and Nathan Mciver, But we definatly need another top end D or if we re-up with SOB someone good enough to play with SOB not to make him look like a slow fool, dont get me wrong hes good but we need a Puck Moving D-man. So, i have said Maybe Derek Morris could help not to sure how much he could recieve but hes solid enough and fast. Another option is UFA or TRADE because we have so many young prospect forwards. Any ideas of who we could trade for?
Make it reasonable dont say lets trade for Brian Campbell because thats too much money and MG wont put us to high against the cap hes smarter then that.
Lets Hear it.

Even though it looks like we millions to spend we really do not as the cap is going down in 2010-2011 and we need enough cap to sign the FAs next year. We could go after some FAs with one year contracts. The problem with trading prospects is that outside of Cody none have significant cap relieve. Some on this board are saying trade this Salo or Mitchell or Bieksa but it leaves a big defensive hole to fill. Just a quick look at the 2010-2011 cap problem we face.
The cap drop to 50 we need lose ~6.8 mill of cap space and today we are at 48-49 with 5-7 players to sign. So if next years cap is 50 then how do we sign our FAs? Some of our key players are:
Pavol Demitra -- He is probably gone but his cap is only -4
Ryan Johnson -- gone but his cap hit is -1.150
Roberto Luongo -- if he resingns his cap hit will be closer to 8 an increase of 1.250
Willie Mitchell -- slight increase to 4 with a cap hit increase of .5
Ryan Kesler -- raise to 5 mill - cap increase of 3.25 (could be 4 but better to plan for 5)
Mason Raymond -- depending on his year lets say an increase of .2
So we lose Pav and Johnson to cover the increase to sign the other 4 but what about signing their replacements and the 5-7 players this year that are not included in the 48-50 cap? We just do not have cap space to sign high or medium cap hit players for more than one year contracts so don't get to excited.

For 1.25/1.5, Vaananen would probably re-up, or possibly Wozniewski. If we go for experience, Hedican would probably play for that, and then there's Chelios. He may pay us that much to let him play.

Or how about trading for:
K.Ellerby(20)
C.Barker(23)
J.Johnson(22)
If Luongo indeed does resign we have a serious blue chip prospect on the table in Schneider to help us land a young stud.
Package him with Raymond or Hansen even a pick too if that's what it takes and let's get another young player to build around.
I could see Florida or Phoenix taking Schneider to build around and then trading Vokoun/Bryzgalov to free up some cap space.
Same with L.A but they may just stick with Bernier and Quick to build around. ( I'm not sure how Schneider's value compares to these two.)
I don't really see Chicago going for Schneider after getting Huet under contract so it may take something else to land Barker.
Johnson and Barker may cost too much but Yandle or Ellerby could be had for Schneider and pick or prospect or both.

I'm assuming we have to count a spare dman and forward to our cap? or..is that wrong?
Anyway, I'd like to see us sign Seidenberg and M.A. Bergeron.
Or just one of the two and re-sign SOB may be more realistic.
I like the idea of offering Cam Barker an Offer sheet for 3.25 mil or so
But we may be putting ourselves in for some trouble next year depending on how much the cap truly drops.
Edit: I'm hoping Gillis signs a backup goalie around...700-800k

Ellerby would be nice, but we'd have to give up quite a bit to get him

that sound good but barker would probably be on the second pairing.
