No?
Good idea. I mean we're several months away before the actual season begins, so why not just throw in the towel now. There's no point in trying if you think there is a possibility that you'll fail, right? After all, they are professional athletes and have been playing hard their whole lives so they could be drafted and earn a spot on a professional team just for that opportunity of tanking a season.
You're not the first to suggest it, and I'm sure you won't be the last. I know that you're entitled to your own opinion, but sometimes somethings are just better left unsaid.

Think about it, picks that may get you somthing good, or a bust.
Kessel at least is for real. I'm not sure how many picks we have to give up (depending on how much we sign him for) but I'd give up two seconds and 1 3rd round for him. Or a 1st and a 4th.

Sarcasm met with sarcasm. Honestly, I didn't pick up on it because the boards have been inundated with like suggestions.
The funny thing is that you also state that you wouldn't mind blowing up the team--again several months before the season has even started. What is there to blow up? The Canucks have one of the best goalies in the league and two elite forwards, not to mention some great young talent in Kessler, Burrows, and Bieksa (and Hodgson) as well as others. The Canucks currently have great pieces and are just looking to fill a few other spots.

Canucks are a few players away from being a cup contender. 2nd round loss isnt worth blowing up a team.

(Kessel was selected 5th overall in the 06 draft and he's only 21 years old. He's also a proven young goal scorer that is still developing)

Screw that. We already have a lot of pieces and good prospects and you want to start from scratch? With the cap being the way it is, we could tank the next 10 years and be like the Chicago of today with players that have been developed under our system get picked up by other teams for cheap.

The Canucks are in fine shape. I think they could easily make the playoffs and will be a division contender with what they have in place as it is, who knows what will happen in the playoffs... I'm saying I wouldn't really mind if they blew all that up and lost for a couple of years to take real advantage of the younger guys coming in in conjunction with the young guys already in the lineup. We're good, we will be good in a couple of years, as well. If we DID punt a couple of seasons and aim to win in 4 years rather than every year, then we'd basically be unstoppable when everything came together. And I would not mind seeing that.
I would DEFINITELY rather see that than see what some people are suggesting, trading away prospects and picks to sign someone to marginally improve the team for october.

I really doubt they would trade Kessel for just a first and third rounder. Id want someone like kesler and a pick in return for Kessel
