Colorado is clearly rebuilding so I figure now is the best time for a deal with them to get Hejduk from them because Hejduk would be the best line mate for the Sedins and since we're keeping them for another 5 years, we might as well get them a good line mate.

To Van:

Hejduk
4th round pick

To Col:

Raymond
Rahimi

great trade if it fell through but what would our line up look like?

Sedin - Sedin - Hejduk/Samuelsson/Burrows
Demitra - Kesler - Hejduk/Samuelsson/Burrows
Bernier - Hodgson - Grabner
the 4th line we all know /Burrows

we need to figure this one out. Hordichuk scratched for Burrows.. hmm. no?

I don't see Rahimi developing into anything NHL ready in the future so I don't see why he couldn't go and Raymond doesn't fit in our lineup. GREAT PROPOSAL, but we still need to fit in all the players

Hejduk will most likely retire in the next 2 seasons and Raymond has lots of upside and a lot of years left so i wouldnt do this.

This is why Colorado would make the deal and give us a great chance to win the cup in the years before he retires.

I agree 100%.

Raymond was a solid player for us down the stretch and into the playoffs. He also has more than a few seasons left in him, Hejduk does not. Can people show some long term thinking please?

I wouldn't. Raymond is going to be a very good player. If we trade him, we'll regret it.

Maybe. But if we're gunning for the Cup, there's better, more effective options to add instead of Hejduk.

I think you need to pay more attention. He didn't light it up on the scoreboard, and he wasn't that good in the first half. But down the stretch and into the playoffs, he was one of our better players. You don't give him enough credit. Raymond will be a solid player very soon, he took some huge steps last season.

I remember a commentator saying Hejduk would be the best linemate for the sedin twins. Who knows, maybe he'll be a deadline day acquisition.

Exactly. Hejduk would be good for 1-3 years at the most while raymond has a lot longer to go.

I remember commentators saying Carter was the best linemate for the Twins. Then they went on about Bertuzzi should be there. Then it was Pyatt being the best linemate. Now it's Burrows. Last summer, Bernier was the best linemate for the Sedins. And coming into camp, the speculation will be that Samuelsson might be the best linemate for them.

This 'could be the best linemate out there for the Sedins' crap is getting old. How about a little consistancy with their linemate? Let the 3rd guy on the line actually develop some long term chemistry. Burrows worked out just fine, if it's not broken, don't fix it.
