oh god not again.Canucks lost there must be a scandal going on :D

do you remember after game 6 how many threads started with people saying the series was bought and sold.

I wonder if fans of Calgary,Chicago,Columbus,Montreal,Detroit,Washington,Carolina,St Louis,Boston,Philadelphia,New York,Anaheim,San Jose and New Jersey figured there respective series losses were bought and sold,I doubt it.

Plus the fact that Chicago was whining after the Detroit series that they were getting screwed, maybe the NHL is dumb (*snicker*) but why would they screw Vancouver against Chicago just to screw them against Detroit?

I dunno, I will say this though, game 7 of the SCF was the first game that seemed to be for the players to decide, as if the NHL wanted a game 7.

This is a good point. I agree.

I think the refs have too much control over the game via power plays and these 'no touch' rules . Its turning into basketball where the refs blows the whistle and hands the ball over to the other team . Like football where the guy roars all the way down for a touchdown and the refs chuck a flag just before he scores and calls the whole play back.

Sometimes the calls are good but sometimes I am scratching my head .

Im glad they let the wings and pens play game 7. :)

Hawks Q.O dispute is in the hands of the NHLPA. If the PA doesn't grieve the matter will be dropped.

And more from TSN...I just like it better than twitter because twitter is stupid.

Also even if they did go to UFA, you can bet that Gillis would not get in a bidding war with any of them and there would be bidding wars on most of them, especially Barker. That's not how he rolls.

Of course not but that doesn't mean he wouldn't kick the tires.

If the union does not grieve this they are totally obsolete. They might as well not exist. This is worth millions to these players to become UFA's early. Not to grieve would be stupid.

They will, FA period has been put on 100% standstill since this story came out. I would imagine the stall in signings will continue until this is settled either way. I somehow have a feeling there will be a 50/50 RFA/UFA split out if this even with a CHi screw up.

True. ut realistically, how many teams that would spend the money have the cap room to do so...most teams have already blown their wad. If I'm not mistaken there are 3 or 4 teams that are actually OVER the cap at the moment. (Calgary, Philadelphia, New York....)
I think the Canucks have a good chance...Chicago is right up against the cap and was expecting to be competitive because of the good young players on their squad continuing to make lower salaries.... how could they screw this up? If this goes through they are big big trouble.
Mike Gillis's initials are GM spelt backwards......hmmmm....

Trevor Linden is a Vancouver legend...his entire speech was giving props to everyone but himself...a true champion.

I don't think that Chicago is actually right at the cap. remember, they lost Habby's $6.75M and Havlat's $6M and got back Hossa at $5.2M. That's an extra $7.5M right there.

Also, 3 of their RFA's just signed, so it doesn't look there is much merit in that whole UFA argument, otherwise I assume these players would have waited the outcome from the NHLPA. The NHL has already said "OK" and now it's up to the NHLPA to make a case for the remaining players.
