Unless a trade happens, in my opinion best lines on paper with what we have and what we can afford. Here's hoping our prospects step up!

These are actual numbers with the exceptions of Wellwood (guessed at 1 million) SOB, (guessed at 1.1 million) and the backup goalie (guessed at 0.8 million)

Sedin-Sedin-Samuelsson .............. 14.7 million............ Had good results in international play.
Kesler-Demitra-Grabner ............... 6.59333 million.......Kesler's speed/grit with Demitra's playmaking abilities and Grabner's speed/finish.
Burrows-Hodgson-Bernier.............. 5.725 million...........Hard working, full of heart, good offence. Good learning line for Hodgson's first year.
Johnson-Wellwood-Rypien ............ 2.650 million............Shot blocking, (Johnson) good defensive/offense (Wellwood) and speed/toughness. (Rypien)

Mitchell-Salo .............................. 7 million....................Shut down!
Edler-Rahimi???........................... 3.9 million.................Not sure about Rahimi, he's huge and a defensive Defensemen. Almost made the team last year.
Bieksa-SOB................................. 5 million....................Had good success last year.

Luongo.........................................6.75 million
Backup.........................................0.8 million

Raymond, Hordichuk and Nycolat as needed. 2.45 million.

Total:...........................................53.12 million.

3.68 million under budget. Enough for call ups or Trade deadline.

Any better suggestions?

I wouldn't have Kesler on the wing, he should be centering.
I dont see Grabner getting on the 2nd line, and Burrows shouldn't be on the 3rd line anymore.
I would give Samuelson some time on the 1st line, but if it doesn't pan out I wouldn't hesitate to pop burrows back in there.

I don't agree with a lot with this post.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows (it worked last year and unless Burrows and the twins don't pick up Sammy is here to help!)
Demitra - Kesler - Samuelsson (posibly Burrows)
Raymond - Wellwood - Bernier (worked great at the end of last season)
HORDICHUK - JOHNSON - RYPIEN (one of the best fourth lines in the league, if not THE best)
Grabner
Mitchell - Salo (YES)
Edler - McIver (from what is on our roster right now)
Bieksa - SOB

Luongo
Schneider (gains market value)

we still have cap space to sign Foster who would go in for McIver.
notice that CoHo is not in the line-up.. why rush let him develop!!
THIS IS OUR BEST LINE-UP

I don't think MG will give up Schneider, goalie prospects of that caliber don't get traded often. Especially when Luongo hasn't even committed to us past the next season.

We both know AV is going to shift guys around every chance he gets.

Burrows worked great with the Sedins and I would love to see him up there. I just think as a young player with a lot of motivation he'd be great to get Cody's skates moving and get him seeing the ice.
Wasn't Kes on the wing with Demitra and Mats? I personally think Grabner needs to be 2nd line as he's not a grinder but a goal scorer. He reminds me of a player who needs to be thrown into the fire, head down @ss up, unlike CoHo who needs to see the whole picture. Also I think Demitra would pair well with Grabner as he goes hard to the net.

Any way you slice it, it could be a fun year if the young rookies make the team.

With the cap, I just can't see us signing much more.

Mciver isn't signed. Nycolat is.
I don't agree with calling up Grabner to be a plug. Either play him full time or leave him with the Moose.
I don't agree with Schneider coming up on the premise of gaining market value and trading him. What do we do if Luongo decides not to sign until June? Play Schneider 10 games instead of 40+ with the Moose.

Your lineup is nice, however, all you've done from last years line is switch Sundin for Samuelsson. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I think we had a 2nd round exit. Who wants that again. We need some tweeks and changes. Minor maybe, but young blood will be good.
CoHo has a great chance of making the club. Let him mature, yes, but if he's good enough bring him up. He's not a fragile player who needs to be babied, he's a strong player who needs to be challenged. Letting every prospect mature in the minors isn't always the most beneficial way.

Mitchell Salo

Defense is pathetic and you have over 3mill left. Take that and spend it on a vet.

Schneider or Zubov? Cheap? No?
The resident Sedin Hater. And one of many Vignault Haters.
Gillis has said he won't force a player to waive his NTC, or even ask him to. Make a note of it.
The current CBA states that a player cannot have a 50% paycut or more within three years of the same contract.

Sign Kessel to 3 mil if possible, on 2nd rounder, otherwise 3.75
O'Brien to 1 mil per year
Baumgartner is unknown, presuming 1 mil, it will be less
UFA backup goalie, 1 mil

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows (14.2)
Kesler-Demitra-Kessel (9.5 using 3.75 for Kessel)
Bernier-Hodgson-Samuelsson (6.2)
Rypein-Johnson-Hordichuck (2.475
Raymond (.883)

Salo-Edler (6.75)
Mitchell-Bieksa (7.25)
O'Brien-Baumgartner (2)
Rome (.55)

Luongo (6.75)
UFA (1)

Total Cap Hit: 56.675

Haha, what's sad is that you're right. This is what we get, and we won't make the playoffs with this roster.

Nice job, Mike! Good thing that you didn't "overpay" at the deadline or July 1st, wouldn't want you to actually take a risk! Now we're simply going to lose a lot of games, but at least we're fiscally responsible.

This year = gong show.

Why would Boston throw a party if we got Kessel at 3 mil? id throw a party, it would be like trading
a 2nd round pick for Kessel, what a steal !!!!!

Where's Raymond? Everyone seems to exclude him out. I rather have Raymond right now who has had some NHL experience and call up Grabner when Raymond is injured. And we need to leave at least a bit of cap space for call ups unless we want to be Calgary of last year having 15 skaters.
