1. He can't talk with the Ref
2. Causes confusion with who will go and talk to the ref
3. He needs to concentrate on his game not everyone elses
He can be the captain in the locker room but out on the ice we need..
Who has the leader ship and knowledge to be our captain?
Mitchell..no
Ohlund..gone
I can't figure it out.
My Vancouver Canucks Roster 2009/1010
D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien
Grabner
Mitchel - Salo
Bieksa - O'brien
Rome
Luongo
Raycroft
Retire Markus Näslund's 19 already!!

its not good to strip the C off someone who is playing well, so that won't happen.
Theoretically, it would have to be Mitchell or Kesler.

They should continue there trend of weird captaincies and find a way to let the Sedin's share the C

HAHA I thought about this also.
1. Luongo is Captain. They're not going to strip him of it.
2. Luongo is Captian. But pretty much only in the locker room.
3. Luongo is Captain. It wasn't stupid, he IS the best role model/leader on the team.
4. Luongo is Captain. No confusion as there was appointed people to handle the refs.
5. LUONGO IS CAPTAIN. /end thread.

I have no idea why Luongo is captain . He cant inspire much outside his goalie capabilities which is what ALL goalies try to do anyways regardless of being captain.
he cant do anything else and when he gets a night off he is a HEALTHY SCRATH and its tough being captian in that situation.
I suppose Luongo is captain simply to STAVE OFF Ryan Kesler until emperor Hodgson is deemed ready. Right?

My top 3 choices (for captain):
1. Kesler
2. Bieksa
3. Mitchell
But I think it will be like this:
C: Kesler
A: Bieksa
A: Mitchell
A: Burrows or Sundin?? (If we sign him)

Kesler should be Captain. The guy is a warrior out there. He is used in every situation on the ice. He can play on any of our 3 top lines (depending were he is needed), plays the power play and is one of the best penalty killers in the league. Puts his body on the line all of the time for this team. He is getting better every year. He is still young but experienced and can lead this team for many years to come.
