I wouldn't mind seeing him back but I don't know if we can fit him under the cap even at 4M. I really don't see him signing for less than that.

The bigger news for many Canucks fans, though, is that his wife Gina and four-and-a-half month old baby daughter Gabriella will be accompanying him this year.

i hope he comes back, but it got more unlikely he won't after the Samuelsson signing. also he will have to take a serious paycut to fit under the cap. my personal belief is he will retire seeing how he is getting married and settling down. plus he already called off the olympics.

This post is reasonable. High profile source with his agent as the specific source in the article.

I think Sundin wants back to Van IMHO , but i dont know if 4mil is in the deal.

its a LONG grind but he now has connections to vancouver and he is yet to even play in the finals.

Odds are still that he plays this year.

Edit :

After i have thought about it, why doesnt gillis do this ?

Goto sundin and offer him 3mil signing bonus and 1mil salary.

Sundin gives Gillis his unwritten word he will goto training camp and give it until xmas .

At xmas if he inst keeping up, or nux or losing or he isnt having fun or any combo then he can retire no hard feelings.

Or if hes having fun and can produce he keeps playing.

I think if we have the cap space its a fair deal.

Both parties chance great reward but also risk getting burned.

Why would we burn 4million on the cap for someone who isn't even committed? Also, why would we waste a roster space when someone could be getting much needed experience? He's over 35 so his bonus and salary will still count against our cap. I think I`m seeing this either very clearly, or I`m missing something very important here.

I'd like him back, but we would have to trade a player or two to get more money cause we NEED at least one more d-man. Thats what we should think about before Sundin, lets take care of our defense then consider Sundin, cause as of now, im fine with the offensive team we have.

Sundin should be re-signed. He had his legs back by the end of the year.
8 points in 8 playoff games if I remember..
Plus this year he can go through training camp before the season.

He obviously needs a paycut.

RIP Luc B

REALLY like to see him back. Great experience for the younger players along with Samuelsson. I think he still has one decent year left provided he commits to the whole year and training camp. If he decides to play (hope he does) I don't think the money will be a problem. I got the feeling he likes it here.

:)

With Sundin, lets say 4 mil and Demitra 4 mil not resigned after this year, we can keep the same team next year with a increase in Kesler wage to 3.5. Add Hodgson and maybe schroeder for replacements. you save 3 mil off the cap. All you have to do is find where your cutting the other 3.5 to 4 mil. Let Mitchell walk and replace him with a younger better cheaper D-man. Not the greatest team but decent and under the cap. ;)

Sundin would be a great addition for the Canucks. Last year he was out of shape, but I think if he trains hard during the summer, he will be the player that all of us know.

8 mil left, we have, kaberle 4.25 then that would give sundin like 2.5 mil left. and the rest for backup.
