Deal that makes us better now and for the long-term Cap wise and in all other aspects

1. James van Riemsdyk
Phili is in tight against the cap now after getting Pronger. They also have no real number 1 goaltender as Emery is signed for 1 year and IMO was never considered a quality net minder. What Phili does have is a huge amount of offensive talent ie, Richards, Carter, Gagne, Briere, Hartnell etc. Thus they James vanRiemsdyk may be considered expendable to fill the gaping goaltender issue they have. Thus I recommend that Van sends Cory Schneider to Phili for vanRiemsdyk straight.
Note that both Cory Schneider and James vanRiemsdyk are ranked within two places on Hockeyfutures.com.
2. Chris Butler
Buffalo has always had a tough time keeping there stars due to there financial situation. As such, they are really lacking firepower up front. Apart from Roy, Vanek and the often injured Connolly, there is little to no talent up front. Further, they are definitely trying to look for someone due to Afinogenov leaving but I doubt they have ever been able to make a realistic bid for a top player. Raymond is the type of guy that would excel in Buffalo given the speedy game they play. Thus I would send Raymond for Butler.

Butler is a mature offensive defenseman that is reliable in his own zone. He was a team leader at the University of Denver this past season, setting an example for a very young team. As a well-rounded player, he works well in tight spaces and makes the first pass well.

If we're dealing with Buffalo for a prospect defenceman, it has to be Tyler Myers. Period.
And it would likely take a pretty good offer to get him.

I think they would accept the trade, since Schneider is the BEST young goalie (aside from Rask) not in the NHL. Schneider's cap hit is low and could be their future #1 goalie and he is also American. I think Philly would do that deal since they have glut of forwards right now with C.giroux making the team and want to win a cup within the next 3 years.

Agreed, we should go after myers if we wanted a defensive prospect. and as to the Philly trade i think we would have to give up maybe like a 2nd-4th round pick for JVR, but even then i'd still do that trade.

Schneider, Demo
For
JVR, Braydon Coburn
would give us more cap space and I never really liked Demo anyways
Sedin - Sedin - Samuelsson (s-line?
JVR - Kesler - Burrows
Bernier - Hodgson - Raymond
Hordi - Johnson - Rypie
Wellwood
Edler - Coburn
Mitchell - Salo
Bieksa - SOB
Rome/Nycholat
D core is set but the 2nd line looks quite week and there is cap to fix this. (Alex Tanguay, Saku Koivu, Mats Sundin are all options for me)
My Vancouver Canucks Roster 2009/1010
D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Burrows
Hordichuk - Johnson - Rypien
Grabner
Mitchel - Salo
Bieksa - O'brien
Rome
Luongo
Raycroft
Retire Markus Näslund's 19 already!!
