I say do the crotchduster. They are like no band before but they sing like every other band out there.

I checked it out and it's not really what I'm looking for. I'm thinking more of songs in this vein:

Big ups for the Crumbsuckers mention!!

"Life Of Dreams" is one killer album...still relevant to this day.

oOoOoO...and i also finally replaced my copy of Death's "Human".

Sean Reinhart is a fricking genius.

Chuck was, and always will be the icon of Death metal. Human's a wicked album, however "Leprosy" is still my all time fav!

EERO, that is fantastic! I love progressive bands like that. Is the rest of their discography this good?

Honestly I couldn't tell you, I'm pretty new to this band too. I've heard of them a bit before but "Of Seismic Consequence" is the only album I've heard in full. I'm gonna try to go back and listen to the some of their earlier stuff soon.

Anyone here listen to Doom Metal bands like Sunn O)))? I found myself listening to one of their entire albums on youtube the other day. I have no idea what to make of it. Some people say it's like an amazing experience. I don't even think I like it but I keep coming back to it for some reason.

I apologize ahead of time if these guys have already been mentioned. I'm unsure how I missed this thread before, and I'm not about to search 21 pages, but anyone into BTBAM? And if you've never heard them or heard of them, damn...you're missing out.

I saw them when they came to Vancouver last September. I could never quite get into them aside from a couple songs, but there is no denying they have a TON of talent.

I was like you, only into a few songs at first...Mordecai being my favourite, but when Colors came out, I was hooked. Their latest album, The Great Misdirect...BEST...ALBUM...EVER. Seriously..check it out. Mirrors is a song I recommend for sure.I just saw them again in Toronto on the Cool Tour with Underoath and As I Lay Dying. Their live shows are ones that stick with you forever.

I'll give them another listen. I saw them with Protest the Hero, Killswitch Engage, and In Flames. Their live show was very good, but all the bands there were kind of upstaged by Killswitch despite the fact it was mostly In Flames I was going for. Killswitch just has a fantastic stage presence.

I agree with you there. Killswitch does have fantastic stage presence. Would love to see them again one day.

Until I met my husband, I was into mellow stuff. Anberlin was and still is my absolute favourite, they're not any kind of metal, but there's something about them I love. If you want stage presence, they put on a wicked show. My husband, who is HUGE into any kind of metal (has over 3 months worth of music on his iTunes), even enjoys a few of their songs and loves their shows...but don't tell him I told you that.

Among other favourites he's gotten me into:

Demon Hunter

He Is Legend

Isis

AILD

From a Second Story Window (RIP) (Named our daughter after their 2006 album)

Mellow...but amazing, Further Seems Forever...also RIP, just listen to the drums

Periphery

The Breather Process

I could go on forever.
