Slaytanic Wehrmacht
Gothic is Kinda my thing, and The 69 eyes and HIM almost ruined it for me but thankfully Bam is not on TV anymore and HIM hasn't made a good album in years. Noheart
Gothic metal at its finest. See and for me, I love rotting christ but i see them more as "Black" just a little too aggressive to be "Gothic" IMO

VICanucksfan5551
Black Gothic There's nothing black metal about it, IMO. ETOS is solidly in the melodic death metal camp. I can't say I've ever heard anyone describe them as black metal before.

Slaytanic Wehrmacht
I personally also love genre-bending bands like Behemoth (blackened death) and Samael (industrial black)

I actually will agree with you on this one...the prominent keyboards and the gloomy lyrics would classify this band as symphonic death with a Gothic influence. TOMapleLaughs
Meshuggah's latest album, Koloss, is one of the best metal albums i've heard in years. In the past i've written-off the band as a strange-riffing, alien voicebox-speaking band without much to say. But it seems that they've taken their collection of progressive work from all their past albums, condensed it into a tighter, crisper package, and delivered a metal masterpiece. -The album begins with the statement, "I am Colossus", and that one is begging for a remix. -"The Demon's Name Is Surveillance" is a drummer's dream, but it is a difficult song to appreciate. -The real intro to the goods is "Do Not Look Down", which sets the tone for the songs to come. -My favorite song on the album is "Behind The Sun", which has an ultra-heavy riff and vocals to match. Song progression is also great. -"The Hurt That Finds You First" and "Marrow" are also good. -"Break Those Bones Who's Sinews Gave It Motion", the single youtube video release, features a riff i'd label as 'Korn Plus Another String' should've have been the single before "Demiurge", but who knows, maybe this album deserves another single. -"Swarm" is another solid song. -And then there's "Demiurge", the opening song from their latest concert at the Commodore. A head-banging masterpiece. -Album wraps up with an instrumental "The Last Vigil." What i like about Meshuggah is their frontman is one of the best out there and the 8-string guitars add a new dimension to the same ol' CHUNK-a-CHUNK-a-CHUNK riffs from past bands, while the solos are mostly non-traditional 'math metal' and some are utterly unplayable, but unique. Koloss is by far their best work to date and if you're a true metal head, then i recommend you check it out.
Slaytanic Wehrmacht
You wouldn't happen to know when it's released in N.A. Would you? I'll keep my ear to the ground like I always do and provide release date details when they become available...they're still recording the fourth track apparently, and Nergal is in no rush to finish the rest of the album, maybe a third of the album is underway, and he's still recovering from a bone marrow transplant procedure. Have heard though that a tour will accompany the release, scheduled for mid-2013.

Unplayable is a gigantic understatement...I'd venture to say Meshuggah is one of those bands whose actual unique sound will never be successfully duplicated.
