Luongo for Lecavalier

Michalek wouldn't be too bad imo. He would make a great winger for our second line. Other then him, all the other players I would want would be untouchable (Karlsson, Fisher, Lehner, Cowen). We could get him for Tamby + picks? (Tambellini would be useless to have if we got Mich).

exactly. Ruutu is affordable and valuable to a playoff team. But i think that's about it. I wouldn't want anyone else. Even Jarkko is too expensive for the nucks. I say don't bugger with chemistry - no deadline deals.

I wouldn't want Ruutu even if we could get him for cheap. Don't get me wrong, I loved him when he was a Canuck but this team has really evolved into a team toughness type team from an agitating team. A player like Ruutu is fun for the fans to watch but he could be costly in the playoffs with creating all his crap and taking dumb penalties. There's a reason a player like Kesler no longer acts as an agitator and causes crap so why would we go out and get one?

Not sure why anyone would shorten "them" to "em" and still say "they are".

I'd probably go with "Get em while they're hot".

Oh the actual post? No, I don't see it happening.

So the Sens are blowing it up, and apparently no one is safe from trades. Quick questions, are there any players in their system that are worth taking before the deadline?

9MM comes with a 4 year, $4.3M price tag. That's definitely more Gillis would like to pay a guy who has underperformed on multiple offensively minded teams. Now, i'll give him that he does talent and speed, but it's still quite a risk for that price tag. A quick look through their roster, and other than the rookies there isn't really a whole lot. Foligno would be nice, but I doubt he'll go cheap. Ruutu might help the 4th line gain some consistency, but it really doesn't help the 4th line in their quest for a centre. Winchester isn't bad, I think he would be a good addition to the 4th line and give them a bit more size and grit. Regin would be nice, but like Foligno, he wont be going cheap. I'd be interested to see if Regin would have any chemistry with fellow Dane; Hansen.

I just don't see a piece in Ottawa that the Canuck's could really use and be able to obtain. Foligno is the player I would like. Good potential upside on this guy and with some guidance, he could easily fit the Kesler mold. Regin could definitely benefit from some mentoring from Samuellsson, Kesler and/or Malhotra and could become quite talented also. Just depends what Murray will let them go for. (More than a song, I can tell you that for sure.)
