Do not want.

Don't even want to move Schneider this year. Gotta blow our socks off if someone wants him. Green does not accomplish that.

Sometimes I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists somewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.

It bugs me when people pull out the gold medal for an example... Luongo only had to outplay Brodeur.

Ewww Mike Green?

This is worse than the Parise/Weber suggestions...At least those guys are good players even though it's impossible to get them. Mike Green would only make our team worse. This guy is a no show in the playoffs and has had way too many concussions. If he had any hockey sense to begin with, they've already been knocked out of his head a long time ago from those blows to the head.

Athletes today are scared to make Muhammad Ali Statements.

Considering that Washington needs to get rid of cap space, Greens value is greatly reduced. Washington also does not need a goalie with the likes of Neuvirth and Holtby developing. At this point, Schneider could get us more than Green considering that the circumstance is similar to the one that sent Ehrhoff to the Canucks. We could probably get Green for a mid prospect and a 3rd round pick at this point.

To Canucks: Drew Stafford

To Sabres: Marco Sturm, 2012 2nd Round pick, And Maybe a Conditional Pick in 2013

Now I dont know if they would accept, Probably not but the idea is offer Sturm and some kind of package for Stafford. If not Sturm Maybe someone else.

I believe Stafford would be a good player along side kesler. Good Shot Decent Speed.

Last Season his stats were:
2010-11 Regular Season GP:62 G:31 A:21 P:52 +/-:13 PIM:34

And hes only 25 so hes a good young player.

you don't sign a free agent and then trade him , next year free agents would think twice about signing here and staffords worth more then 2nd pick and conditional 3rd

They JUST signed him to a 4 year deal, he is only 25, and scored over 30 goals last year. Buffalo is close to the cap but they're not going to get rid of one of their best players for marco sturm

Remember ... Buffalo is actually dedicated to winning now. If you want anything from Buffalo you better start asking about Jochen Hecht or Ales Kotalik, definetly not Stafford.

Swap Samuelsson for Sturm, through in a decent prospect, only a 1 second round pick and they might consider. I doubt it though, new ownership--->dedicated to winning.

We might be able to take someone off there hands though, as they would be smart to create some cap space for themselves.

While our defensive strength is still debatable depending on how Ballard plays next year(if Coach V gives him the chance), I think the biggest area that the Canucks need to work on is secondary scoring as well as team toughness.

IMO, Chris Kunitz fills both of these roles quite nicely. Kunitz is coming off of a season where he played just 66 games, but still managed to put up 23 goals and 155 hits! This is 6 more hits than our leader, Jannik Hansen(MG sign him too please!) in many less games. He has only been a minus player once in his career(-3 with Atlanta in 05/06, and who wouldn't be a minus on Atlanta?) He is a whooping +81 in just 451 games in his career. He is also a proven playoff performer, registering just under a P/G in the 2010 playoffs with the Pens.(Last year no Crosby or Malkin, unfair to judge). He is also a proven winner, as he has won 2 Stanley cups. His cap hit is also a managable 3.725m. He is a solid powerforward that is tough to play against, gritty, and talented. You can't get any tougher than growing up on the Prairies(he was born in Regina).

He would really solidify our top 6.

I could see Samuelsson(or)Raymond and a 2nd(or) 3rd for Kunitz?

I know that the Pens would be hesitant to give him up but I think that if we gave them a package that would lessen there cap hit they might accept, especially if they want to re-sign Staal in a few years, who no doubt deserves a pay raise.

Another guy I would love is James Neal, but I know that is a complete fantasy, as he is still young, has some upside, and is a great forward for them going forward.

Do you guys think that Kunitz would be a good fit? If so, what do you think that the Pens would want for him and what would you be willing to give up.

Remember, this is just my opinion, so no need to flame. Whatever happens I will ALWAYS cheer on the boys. GO Posted Image GO Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

With Washington being tight for space, I wonder if MG will make a play for Mike Green? He'd definitely replace Ehrhoff on the QB PP and has a bit more sandpaper to him....the other option is picking a player from teams like Nashville, New Jersey or NY Rangers who could be hampered with large contracts like Weber and Parise....one player is Dubinsky....

Green/Dubinsky = happy fans for the 2011/2012 season?
