Still, can we really afford to just try radical projects in this point of our team development? Like another guy said our first two lines and pretty much set so he would be penciled in on the third if he is not awesome out there. I can't see us waiting 30 games while we have Sammy and Burr if he is not clicking and I don't think he is a third line checker either. I don't know if he played on the third line in Ottawa all year but the couple he did I watched and he is not suited for that role on a good team.
He had Alffie and Kovalev ahead of him on the right wing so he did play 3rd line. I think Ottawa bought him out because he's not worth 3.5 million cap space. No one is saying to give him a 30 game try out. The canucks are going to sign more players than they have spots available. They are financially helthy and will spend significantly more than the cap. They wil bury the extra contracts in the minors like they did last year with Lukowich and even Schnieder when he did'nt work out. I think Burrows had a great year and might even have a better one next year, but he is self adimittadly a third liner if it wasn't for the Sedins. PPl on CDC think we're geting Ladd from Chicago for the third line, they're dreaming unless we give up schroeder and a pick or something similar. I think Gillis will make one or two Bold moves and see if they work out. IF not bury the contract. No harm no foul. You gotta remember a million dollars is pretty much minnimum these days in the NHL. The other poster who speaks of canucks 101 and how their forward lines are SET forgot that the canucks need 4 forward lines not 2. He only named 6 players in his response.
