This IMO is the best read out there. If you like zombies and have not read this graphic novel(comic) yet I envy you. Here is the first issue http://www.newsarama...um.php?gid=1358

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

I see them on the way to work. Lined up across the sidewalk, slowly lurching along, making it impossible to pass.

I guess that is a resounding NO to anyone reading it. They are making a TV series out of this on AMC and I hope they don't ruin it by watering it down too much. I have read all 68 issues and I can't wait for # 69 (only 2 more days).

Unfortunately you might have to download via torrent or buy them at a local comic store.

I looked and found this link < http://answers.yahoo...14235216AAmwtLH > However I recommend isohunt with utorrent (I got them all from there) and I also bought the issues I could find from a Surrey comic shop because I like to support this graphic novel(comic). Bear in mind these aren't for the faint of heart. It is very dark at times but the story telling is epic.

I've read them all and love them!

Have you read anything else by Kirkman? I like Invincible a lot as well.

This is from Kirkman in a letter response,

"Rick was very disturbed by the woman... so he went back and put her out of her misery. You see... the thing could't move, it was too eaten and decayed, but the brain was still intact so it was doomed to stay there on the side of the road for the rest of whenever. He was being humane."

Seems like a neat little series and some of the artwork is pretty effective, however one thing I never got about zombie apocalypse stories is how the zombies were able to basically destoy civilization? Hands and teeth alone ain't going to cut it against brains and hardware.

It's those details movies skip because they know its pretty far fetched. The only movie that has a something takes over the world and seems like it could happen is some super airborne illness bug that kills everybody quicker than the world can respond. Pretty scary if you ask me

No I have not, as I'm not an avid reader of graphic novels. Although TWD has resurrected comic books for me and I have tried out a few since reading it but nothing has took yet. In a way it brings me back to when I was a kid and read comics every week(my Mom worked for Coles Books so I had access to lots). I still remember reading the Superman Dies series and thinking how epic it was(too bad the cartoon adaptation was god awful). I'll give Invincible a shot tonight and let you know what I think.

I also should have named this "The Official Walking Dead Thread" as the pilot was just green lit.< http://splashpage.mt...dead-tv-series/ > I'm sure once it airs people will be talking about TWD. Frank Darabont ("The Shawshank Redemption," "The Mist") is set to direct the pilot. Will it be in B/W? How watered down will it be for TV? Any ideas of who could play who? For Rick I think Josh Holloway (Sawyer from Lost) would be a good choice as this is his last year on Lost and I see nothing on IMDB for the future.

Zombies on TV can life get any better?!

I gave Invincible a shot and I'm hooked. It seems a bit silly in the beginning but after #7 it really picks up. Kirkman is the man!
Thanks for the recommendation.

Finished 'Invincible' up-2-date and I'm now as addicted to it as I am to 'TWD'. I can't wait a whole month for both of them. So I read 'Y-The Last Man' "&" started 'Preacher' and they are both great. :)

So just a bump and hopfully I can turn someone on to these fantastic Comics.

PS. any 'TWD' (The Walking Dead) comments would be appreciated

Thanks for turning me onto The Walking Dead! I haven't read comics in many, many years but I gave this one a shot because it was so easy to downloa--- err, buy. It's really good. The only thing I don't like is how Tony Moore left the book. His art is incredible. Adlard's good sometimes but I think his drawings of people, in general, is sloppy and weird, like he rushes through some issues. I don't like how he completely changed Lori's face. Moore drew her with a big, flat nose which gave her a unique look and made her immediately identifiable, and Charlie Adlard changed it to a regular nose. Adlard's covers are really good though.

Overall though, awesome comic which is a total change from the superhero books I used to read.

Your welcome. I agree with you; Moore shouldn't have left, but it is still Tony Moore's art who graces the cover every month. That's probably why you like it so much.

AMC has done an incredible job on its television programs, especially "Breaking Bad" (I find "Mad Men" a bit overrated and downright boring at times) so I have no doubt this will be a good show. I haven't read the comics but I'll watch the show.

I see the walking dead everytime I'm in a mall in Greater Vancouver. You know the people...they take up the ENTIRE hallway and shuffle along aimlessly, making it nearly impossible to pass them.

MAKES ME INSANE.
