That was one lucky three packs.

Anyways, I also pulled a Myers YG, Demers YG, Regin YG, and a few other gems. Also got a UD MVP Zach Bogosion Gold Script 044/100.

Demers is the 2nd card, and the Myers is the 1st on the 2nd row.

It is amazing how cheap Brent Seabrook cards are going for, even his rookies. It would be a good time for someone to start building a player collection on him. I would but, I would like to finish my Kevin Bieksa one first. Although those prices make it hard.

I need to start collecting again. I have cards from 1980-2002 (my dad), but then I stopped for no reason. This was the last card I got.

I don't collect cards for profit, but I should be frantically searching for Crosby and Ovechkin cards now while they're still young. They will be worth a lot in 20-30 years.

Bure, selanne, belfour, brodeur, linden, yzerman, sundin, forsberg, naslund, jagr, etc....rookies! Favorite cards have to be my 2nd year bobby orr card, ken griffey Jr rookie and my most prized.... Michael Jordan baseball card...worth a lot!

Oh 5 lindros rookies as well as the famous and hard to find one where its him in a canada jersey and federov is Soviet jersey and its has a mistake on it showing an American flag at the bottom of lindros' name...worth quite a bit more back in the 90's for sure. Lots of mogilny rookies too and larionov...beauty!

The Ovechkin cards have dropped, you can get a Upper Deck 05-06 Rookie for 80$. Then if you grade it and it comes back 9 or higher. It raises to 200+.

New card in the mail today: 2009-10 Upper Deck MVP Rookie Gold Script Victor Hedman 18/100.

I used to work at a hockey card/memorabilia store so I sort of feel obliged to respond to this thread.

All the cards in the 90s are mass produced so none of them will be worth very much. They started numbering some insert cards in the mid-90s and even then they were numbered in the thousands. The base cards from players in that era are probably worth a quarter at most, with most of them averaging from a nickel to a dime.

Fast forward to the present, early 00s to present, there is now a wide spectrum of hockey cards for all kinds of collectors. For younger children (Victory, MVP, OPC, to some extent UD .. etc.), then medium range (Black Diamond, SPX, SPA), then to the higher end (Trilogy, SPGU), and finally the super ridiculous high end (UD Black, Ultimate, The Cup).

You don't really hit anything of value until you start pulling out of SPX and SPA (with the exception of UD YGs), Black Diamond cards are $$$ when they first come out but are eventually dwarfed in prices by SPX and SPA since BD doesn't have any memorabilia RCs, in fact they only have 1 auto per 2 boxes, which isn't great considering how much it is.

If you're into collecting singles, eBay is the way to go. It is BY FAR the cheapest option for collecting singles. I've bought all my Canuck cards from eBay for prices that make the Beckett prices look stupid. Managed to snag all the Bourdon auto RCs outside of The Cup (before his unfortunate death, of course), have SPA RCs from Edler, Bieksa, and other Canuck rookies from 05-06 and 06-07. I also bought a bunch of Naslund autos from the mid 00s, including a Bertuzzi Posted Image auto patch from I think 05/06 The Cup numbered out of /44. Have a dual patch of the Sedins from I think 06/07 SPGU also /100. There aren't very many Sedin autos out there though, last I remember was I think Henrik had an auto card from 06-07 UD BAP Autograph Series, so I have that and 'settled' for a Daniel auto from the 02-03 BAP Auto series ... anyhow I think I've made my point. eBay is the way to go.

If you have some money to spend, then cracking packs is way fun, but often way too expensive and not very good on return on investment. The best card I've pulled is probably a Crosby Sign of the Times out of 06-07 SPA, as far as rarity goes the most rare card is probably a Jesse Schultz auto patch RC /100 from SPA (which is a case hit [1 in 12 boxes]) ... but it was a redemption and I still don't have it yet, I really hope they send me a replacement instead. I actually opened a fair bit of SPA but got burned pretty badly too, I did half a box one time, and decided not to finish it. My friend did the rest and pulled a Gretzky Sign of the Times (again out of 06-07 SPA). Another time I did the same thing and someone else finished the box and pulled a Orr/Esposito/_____? (It was another old timer ... don't remember who) auto numbered very low ... like /25 or so. Booked for $600 on Beckett at the time ... Posted Image

I bought another box of the Upper Deck Series 1, it definitely wasn't a to nice box to me. <_<

The best four I got were:
09-10 UD Young Guns Checklists (Hedman, Tavares, Duchene)
09-10 UD Young Guns Victor Hedman
09-10 UD Young Guns John Scott
09-10 UD Game Jersey Darryl Sittler

I will buy one more box, then that is it with Series 1. I want a John Tavares, and James vanRiemsdyk card then I will be happy.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he was released in the Upper Deck Series 2, as I don't have his card in my Upper Deck Series 1 set.

I'm considering trading in a $30 dollar header card, and get a JVR card. Then trade a few more in order to afford the YG Duchene and Johnny T.
