Gaylord entertainment center? LOL of all things to name a stadium why that?

A:"Dude, where are you going?"

B:"Gaylord Entertainment Center, wanna come along?"

A:"HELL NO!"

I mean it is just so misleading! The first time I read it, I thought it was a gay strip club O.o

The Gaylord Family is big in the entertainment and news corporations. They own a bunch of television studios and newspapers, as well as a hotel chain.

Generally team's do their evaluations before the draft.

True, but Parise was already GONE by the time it was Edmonton's turn to pick at 22, so why and how in the world can the oilers consider parise?

So glad that deal for Richards was rejected, we would have been fleeced BIG TIME.

Gotta love Kesler!

Edmonton screwed up big time at the 2003 NHL draft.

November 20th 2013, Canucks just lost their 5th straight game. Last time this happened the Canucks, they missed the playoffs.

That's nice.

152. On his future, he says "I want to stay in Vancouver. I love it, my family loves it. It's a great city; maybe the most beautiful city in North America. The Canucks are a great organization."

"122. Vancouver was reported to be one of the teams looking at making a deal for Brad Richards towards the trade deadline in 2008. Some of the players the Tampa Bay Lightning wanted in return for Richards included Kesler, rookie defenceman Luc Bourdon, goaltending prospect Cory Schneider and forward Mason Raymond. Kesler went on to have a break out year, with 21 goals."

Anyone wish that went through?
Great post as usual!

i'd probably take out Mason Raymond from there and do the deal, had Brad Richards been a little younger

Because at this point, Brad Richards is still better than Kesler
Schneider does not look like an NHL goalie at the AHL level
Bourdon isn't with us anymore RIP

48. At the 22nd spot, Edmonton was debating between three players, Kesler, Zach Parise, or Marc-Antoine Pouliot. They whittled it down to either Parise or Pouliot. They ended up taking Pouliot. "We just feel Pouliot's upside is better." Said Oiler vice- president of hockey operations Kevin Prendergast. "We think Parise has to work on his skating, too. Pouliot has more speed to his game."

lol @ Edmonton.

lol @ Edmonton.

This is why the Oilers suck.

Ten years of Edmonton's 1st round Draft picks.

Look at this All-Star team.

More evidence that cups are won (and lost) in the draft:

2007 Sam Gagner
2006 (no choice-traded for Dwayne Roloson)
2005 Andrew Cogliano
2004 Devan Dubnyk
2004 Rob Schremp
2003 Marc-Antoine Pouliot
2002 Jesse Niinimaki
2001 Ales Hemsky
2000 Alexei Mikhnov
1998 Michael Henrich
1997 Michel Riesen

Looking at his family background, it's fair to say that the rich gets richer.

What? His family are small town Michiganders. His dad had to open a hockey school just so he could pay for hockey. Both parents worked.

You won't find most of this stuff on Wikipedia. Plus Wikipedia had wrong info on Kesler and the Sedins (which I don't bother correcting because Wikipedia is for little kids and retards.)

I can't believe the Edmonton Oilers picked Marc-Antoine Pouliot ahead of Ryan Kesler or Zach Parise.
