Also rumblings Lack could play in his native Sweden next year as well.

I really hope Lack re-signs. What a gem that guy is. He comes from being a mere backup in Sweden to being one of the best goalies in the AHL two seasons running. It would be great if he stayed in the organization.

New Wolves pads for Eddie Lack. Let's just say, they're awesome!

I hope he does something cool like these when he's on the Canucks.

Hey Avemanch, can you give me your thoughts on what you saw from Lack against the Heat?

I watched the 2nd game on TV and I thought he was oozing confidence.

But I'd like to know what you saw live, it seemed like you had a pretty good seat from the videos you posted. Also I'm sure you saw a lot more than I was able to on tv. Thanx

lack looked very confident and relaxed out there. there were a couple of shaky moments where shots kind of handcuffed him (one in particular looked like it almost hit him in the throat, rolled down his back/arm, and just missed going in the net) but it was like water off a duck's back. It looks like he's adjusting his style a bit, but he still looks great most of the time. As for the goals scored on him, he had little to no chance on pretty much every one. Any time he was relied on to save the puck one on one (via the numerous breakaways) he was perfect, even against calgary's only prospect of note.

He didn't stand a chance against the two goals that bounced out of the corner.

You could see the Heat D, slightly adjust to hit the corner, so that it would bounce back in front.

I've never liked the whale on masks.

I wish more of our goalies would get creative with some of the old logos, and the johnny canuck stuff like Luongo has done in the past.

I'm not sure Lack is ready for prime time backing up this year (if there is one this year or next) - his stats are rating him 32nd out of 48 goalies in the AHL so far ..... :/

^ It's still early in the season though. His previous two years are a much better sample to go on.

it doesnt look like lack is doing so well. i havent been able to see any of the games but he has a .898 S% and a 3.02 GAA. thats not good if he wants to make the backup role. but im just looking at the stats. are the stats a good refection of what lack is doing or is he playing well but the stats make it look like hes not doing well. can anyone shed some light on his game so far for someone who doesnt get the chance to watch him play? thanks

Lack has been pretty inconsistent for awhile now. He'll go hot for two to three weeks and then he'll go ice cold for two weeks. It's quite frustrating, tbh.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

Never got to watch tonights game, but it didn't look good for Lack. Another 3+ goal night? Yikes. I keep hearing the same 2 things- 1: He needs to learn to fight for his sight lines when there's traffic 2) Poke check, learn how to use it

It's a small sample size this yr, but I have zero desire to see him backing up Schneider any time soon. I can't imagine his inconsistency this yr makes Gillis comfortable when they're trying to win a Cup. If he does trade Luongo, he's going to need a quality back up coming the other way.

Wolves defensive game has been pretty damn terrible. Lack isn't doing as bad as the stats imply, and his W-L record shows that. Plus when Climie gets in net, you see how hard it is to be the Wolves' goaltender this year. He's still got things to learn, but we simply have too many poor d-men/backchecking forwards. Joslin and Connauton both stick out to me in this regard. However Arniel seems to be figuring out his lines a bit and that stability will improve 2-way play and see Lack's GA go down.

Lack is struggling just as much as his teammates. I wouldn't worry about him too much. He's proven he can be a star in the AHL.

Him and his teammates (and the coaching staff), all need to up their games, plain and simple.

If it makes anyone feel better, Markstrom hasn't done much better. 3.41 GAA and 0.886 SV%, along with a 2-6 record. Mind you San Antonio is worse than Chicago. The only names I know are Quinton Howden, Andre Deveaux, Casey Wellman, J-F Jacques, and Alex Petrovic.
