old_time_hockey
Giants and Bruins on an Alberta trip right now. Giants in Lethbridge tonight, Red Deer Friday to face Nuggent-Hopkins and the Rebels and then Sunday up to Edmonton to tangle with the Oil Kings. Bruins are in Edmonton tonight and the game is on Shaw TV. No lucky tip in win Canucks on the tube tonight so tune in! Friday in Calgary to take on the rather flacid Hitmen and then on to the Hat to take on the Tigers and the loudest 4006 fans you will ever hear. Twas
How's Ryan Howse doing? Is he good for 50 goals this season? Saw him the first game vs Giants and he was ripping it up.
old_time_hockey
Howse is doing well. 18pts in 11 games so far. No points tonight in Edmonton in a 2-1 Bruins win. Bruins were lucky tonight. If they were playing anyone else but the Oil Kings they would have lost given the number of turn overs right at their own blue line. old_time_hockey
ISLANDERS SEND NIEDERREITER BACK TO PORTLAND Thursday October 28, 2010 UNIONDALE, N.Y. - Islanders forward Nino Niederreiter is going back to the Western Hockey League and the Portland Winterhawks. Niederreiter, chosen with the No. 5 pick in this year's draft, was given the news Thursday that he will be returning to the Portland Winterhawks. The decision had to be made now that the 18-year-old centre has played in nine games with the Islanders. By sending him back to Portland, the Islanders ensured his entry-level contract won't start until next year. Niederreiter had one goal and one assist in his brief stint with the Islanders. Last season, as a rookie with Portland, Niederreiter had 36 goals and 24 assists in 65 games, then added eight goals and eight assists in 13 post-season contests. He also earned all-star honours at the world junior championship when he led Switzerland with 10 points _ including six goals _ in 10 games. :D
I went to a game last week and noticed that I was the only one in the building wearing the Gray/Black Giants 3rd jersey from a few years back. They seem to have gotten rare.
